New BMW 335 versus 2007 GT

My bro is dropping the hammer on this new BMW BMW North America
it has nice #'s. I have the torque on him. He has turbo. I have a couple of modds. We are going to tangle here shortly. Any thoughts on the matchup?

Judging by the specs on that car, roughly same weight, less torque than yours, and that's not counting the CAI & electric w/p you have, so, I think you take him in acceleration.....the bimmer only has 3:08's, yours has the 3:55's. He has the 6 gear, so he would probably take you on top end, but who is going to hit 150 mph on the street anyway. Is he getting the stick or the auto TD ?

He is getting the stick. NOtice that there is no longer an M3 from BMW. Looks like the 335 is the M3 now. Yes, You are right, I can take him. His 0-60 is like 4.9 and 1/4 mile is good too. I have the cheap mods that may be enough. He probably can out corner me though. It will be sweet. We have a little track here that will serve us. I really need to do the tires and suspension too. I'll report. 4 weeks

Having that track to play on will be amazing fun.We have one near my work I'll be exploring in the spring. Yeah, even if your mods only gained you 15 or so horse & torque, I think you've easily got him.....I'm not sure what that car handles like, but yeah the bimmers are usually pretty stout handlers, although you're only a cheap suspension kit away from alleviating that scenario! lol

They are quick, but look at the numbers, stock the stang has it on torque, and TD has added a few numbers over that, so with the cars the same weight, and the mustang having the steeper gear, I think he takes the stock bimmer

I found these numbers on a coupe, they are practically the same as the sedan numbers from the link you gave here, TD: Numbers Game

C/D TEST RESULTS

ACCELERATION:

60 mph - 4.9

Street start, 5-60 mph: 5.6
Top-gear acceleration, 30-50 mph: 6.5
50-70 mph: 6.0
Standing 1/4 mile: 13.6 sec@ 105 mph
Top speed (drag limited): 144 mph

Hell, looks like you even have him on the top end too.

looks like a nice littile race. I will give it my american all. I have the advantage in that I can add the modds and still not get close to his $. I told him that too. In fact, I feel good right now with about 345 RWP. I also have the torque. I will win. I'm also a really wicked shifter..you wouldnt think it..but quick shifting on the manual is KEY

lol Confidence is key brother, and that's a 10-4 on the shifting being key.

It's a "driver's" race....you can get the upper hand with some high octane racing fuel (no more than a quarter tank), lighten the car up by removing uneeded items and most important- DON'T SPIN the tires off the line! Just take off and get the jump on the Beemer before the Turbos reach max boost.

I've always had a soft spot for the BMW. Nice car, nice everything less price. I must remind all though, It was the USA that devloped the assembly line, the P51 MUstang , the A-Bomb, the F-22 and the most powerful standing/flying military on earth. USA tech is the best on earth.
