I am all about the looks of the car right now and could careless about performance. I dont want to even mess with the warranty on my car and I know from experience that just because the ford warranty covers it doesnt mean that a aftermarket one will...(Tuned my Audi TT)...So I have completed the front end conversion and the spoiler. All I have to do to the car is put the SLP exhaust on and I am set. Well I want to add some style to the car, I drive from Sarasota to Orlando every weekend (170miles) but I want the car to be a road course car. I want to add the rear seat delete, engine start button, and a set of fixed carbonfiber or Fiberglass racing seats to the car. I dont want adjustable. I want fixed seats with 3 point harness....Has anyone done this to there Mustang?

Couple things to think about on the seats, having fixed full on racing seats in a daily driver will become annoying for entry and exit. The racing seats sort of wrap the driver, to hold them in position. Due to this fact entry and exit isn't the easiest when the seat isn't adjustable. My suggestion is to look for a seat that has less wrap. Dodge did this with their Neon race style seats and it came off pretty well. Still annoying because the seat swallows you, but they adjust so you can make life a little easier.

Just a thought...

i dont get the point in racing seats, they aren't comfortable. i just think they're gay in street cars or everyday cars.

Honestly it's going to be your choice, as mentioned by mav, get something you will be comfortable in, or get one as comfortable as you can get it. My thing has always been that they force you to a more upright position and I hate it.

I personally like the leather seats ford provided. By no means are the a racing seat, but they do function fairly well as an oem procduct.

Could have them reskinned if it's an appearance thing your after. 170 miles in a racing seat weekend after weekend sounds like pure hell to me.

As far as adding a after-market seat to a daily driver... If you race the daily driver on the weekends, you have to have a 5-point harness and seat if you are in the 12's in my area anyway... I don't know what the rules are elsewhere...
