what is this noise i am hearing?


when i start my car up everymorning after it warms up a little and the idle goes down, there comes a click noise that comes from my engine bay, and when it does it the idle jumps up a couple rpm real quick. it keeps doing it like once every minute or so and sumtimes it doesnt make the idle jump. is this normal??

Not positive but the ticking your hearing is possibly injector pulse, it's normal with these cars, as far as idle surging you wouldn't happen to have a BBK throttle body on the car would you?

Nope my car is bone stock....for now. Its just one click, then like a min later one more click and so on.. Wierd idk if it always did it either, I just got the car like a month ago.

A/C compressor maybe? Do you have the A/C on or the windshield defrost/defog on? If so, try turning it off and seeing if the noise and slight RPM surge goes away.

yes, i usually have my defrosters on. ill have to see if it does it with them off. ill let u guys know what happens. thanks

Then that's probably what it is, the defroster uses the A/C to keep the air dry that hits the windshield otherwise it builds up condesation when you have the windows closed.

It's nothing to worry about, the A/C compressors on our cars are loud. Though sometimes mine clunks really hard when I first engage it, that has me a little worried.

ooo me too! lol
on a side note, i need to make a new thread with before and after sound clip of my exhaust.... i just fabbed up muffler deletes using 2 1/2'' stainless and using factory tips, so it still looks stock.
