The guy I talked to at EBC said that the direction of the cooling vanes may or may not make a difference. He didn't know if they were vertical or slanted 'cause I don't have the original part #'s. he said that if they are vertical it won't make a difference and if they are slanted it may or may not make a difference, he didn't know, and has never actually come across a situation like mine. Oh shit, I can't pull my car in the garage tonight 'cause I have my little paint booth set up in there and my driveway has a steep slope. It might have to wait a day or so. But in thinking back I have never had a braking issue except for a little "air noise."

Looked at my rotors last night, the all have straight vanes...shew
I have my slots so that they spin outward, thus expelling debris and gas away from the rotor. I did notice that most brembo and baer are the opposite.
Do they do this to 'shave' the pad? My thought was the slots are there to vent gas/debris, so why does it matter which way?

EBC told my that through their recent studies that it doesn't matter which way the slots face as far as braking performance. They now tell people when asked that it doesn't matter which way they are. Now as for the cooling vanes he didn't know if having the directional ones backwards would make a difference in the cooling characteristics of the rotor. To his knowledge he has never come across anything addressing this issue.

If you read the link I posted, it explains things pretty well.
