D/S question

Which way or direction do the slots run? From center out (when going forward)?

Well, I think I put them on backwards...crap.
How to properly install plain, slotted, or drilled brake rotors

I don't know about the fins between the rotor surface, but my direction is opposite of these diagrams....

Like dis

main importance is how they go into the brake pad, not where they go in relation to the car.

It's at the discretion of the rotors manufacture. I've heard them say differently for essentially the same rotor ...

wouldn't make much sense for the slot to run in to the brake from the outside in though, the point is to dispel heat and dust off the rotor, so it should start from the inside.

Trust me I know. I just don't see how the same rotor for the same vehicle they can say would be different. They should all be the same. I bet Powerslot says to do it like we're saying and I'd listen to that. It's what makes sense.

+1 haha, we need to get rich in here and ask him about what the "tech" people instruct to do when you call up some of the brand name places

I just went and looked at my car. 3 of the wheels the slots go from center to the outside as they hit the brake pad. The front driver's is backwards with the slots going from outside in. I don't understand this. If one was on backwards wouldn't there be another one backwards? I'm going to drop EBC am e-mail and see what they say.

look at the internal vanes that actually dispel the heat, be sure they follow the rotation of the wheel so that they dispel heat/air and do not take in air

I will check that out. but don't you find it odd that only one of the front rotors are backwards from the other? one of two things has happenned. the manufacturer sent two of the same rotors in the set originally or there was a reason that one of the rotors had to be replaced for some reason and they sent the wrong one. when I talked to EBC on the phone they said that they had just finished a study on which way the rotors should face and said there was no difference performance wise which way they faced. They said that if I was to replace one that I should replace them both at the same time. I asked if they would help me out and they said they wouldn't 'cause i'm not the original purchaser and whomever installed them originally should be at fault for not catching the error and fixing it at that point. they can not be sure if it was their error or not. I can understand that but it is just odd the way they are on my car.
