As tech as it gets.

Went to the track today, on my 18inch bullits, nitto STREET tires, 3.73s, didnt short belt the car, everything else the same, no ud's stock drivshaft.....

First run

14.50 at 109.00 hit it at 5000 litteraly blew off the tires, missed 2nd, missed 3rd.

13.65 @ 109.48 left at 2000 bogging, again, grinding 3rd trying to powershift it.

then at 13.15 @ 110.20 again trouble with shifting but no grinding

Then two back to back 12.90s @ 111s with a 2.12 and a 2.19 60 at least not missing any shifts.

Point being is the MPH. I'll let you disect but i think it can help some guys wake up to some realities. Little things make big differences. Oh and 3.73s are for your minivan.

Ah, its all about learing little stuff. And i learned plenty. Ready for the next round of upgrades. Still won every race i was in amazingly. Its always funny to spend the winter online where everyone runs 10s and then get to a drag strip, one new acura, one 09 gt and one camaro. first 14.50 run was a solo.

Its like me trapping 112s and running 12.5s with your same setup. I go from trapping a 116 to a 111 on the best run. Its the little things.

OMG what the?!??!! It looks like the 3:73's are a wimp gear compared to 4:10's, I also see that they make your car trap 4-5 MPH slower. I know those weren't same day runs with the 11 second ones so the conditions are probably a good bit different, but the track doesn't lie. Grrr I wish I knew more about gears before my dad got 3:73's, 500 dang dollars he could've saved down the road by getting 4:10's instead but it doesn't matter unless he actually gets 4:10's.

Hey Rich did you have DR's on when you ran 11.88?

Its a combination of the shortbelting it and the gears. that 111 trap was me beating the hell out the car to get it. i revved it to 6900 just to get that.

LOL, it aint the weather, not on this car. its the gears and the tires, you gotta come out the hole with some rpms, not bog, and have the gear to keep it in the power band and the balls to shift it. I couldnt shift today at all, not sure what was up with that. Lucky i didnt break something.

The day a guy runs 11s n/a on street tires in this car i will kiss his ass. Yea i had dr's on. blackhavoc is the only guy i know running 11s on street tires and he is blown with a straight up drag suspension.

I am so on the fence right now... Was set on 3.73s and now I'm not sure. 4.10s seem the way to go now...

Well maybe you should see what you can run with DR's so it will be a perfect comparison to the 11 sec runs. DR's provide a few tenths worth in the 1/4 of traction over street tires right?

Nah, just wanted to play on street tires. Its not worth my time doing a 3.73 to 4.10 comparision on a n/a car, quite frankly anyone that doesnt already know that, isnt ever going to get it.

Whats interesting is, on street tires with nsr cams and 4.10s i ran 12.8s like the sunrise and trapped 111 to 112 shifting at 6500 and letting go at 3000. on spr stage II cams, ported heads and 3.73s, i struggled to run a 12.90 and trap a 111.

Set up. Thats is all i have to say further on the issue for some guys with cams and 12/13s. It AINT THE CAMS.

11.50? yea i think it will run 11.30s with those mods easy. I think if i wanted to push it further in some areas 10.9x are in that basic setup, perfect conditions of course, racing seat on the driver side, no passenger seat etc.

Just think the bogats are shaving over 100lbs, and i should be able to get at least 1.6 60s. im taking the swaybar off the that set of runs as wells.

I agree, setup is key. Like they say, it's not what parts you have that matters, it's the combination.

and driving. you really have to drive this car a certain way.

I did scream it through the traps in third on one run......someone do the math on that, lets say, it was a touch past fords redline. actually the 13.1 run, third gear.

This is a tough car, and a tough engine, i dont care what anybody says.
