Question about T304 stainless steel headers

Do the brands of long tube headers, like ARH, KOOKS, Stainless Works, et., which are made of T304 stainless steel, discolor over time? Other than reducing under hood temperatures, is it worth it to have them aftermarket coated?

If by over time you mean about 10 minutes after you start the car the first time. Then the answer is yes.

WAIT...I mean ceramic. they come in either SS or ceramic and remember asking one of the guys at a show what was the difference and basically it was cosmetic. But wouldn't SS be hotter than the ceramic?

I think you can powdercoat them yes??

Thanks for you input. It looks like I'll get my long tubes Jet Hot coated or ceramic coated. I saw somewhere that Kooks could be gotten with aftermarket ceramic coating. The price was less than $150. It seems only the long tubes that are made of a lesser material than T304 stainless steel, MAC, BBK, JBA, etc., come from the manufacturer with a ceramic coating option. Oh well, LOL.

its 200+ to get kooks jet coated from kooks. Do it anywhere else the warranty is void. Personally, why worry about it? its just a bronze coloring? it looks cool, its so hard to see the headers anyway unless you are trying to show the car i wouldnt worry about it. Just my 2 cents.
