I know this has been brought up before but...

Livernois lock outs, BBR lockouts, or comp cam phaser limiters. Which will work better?
I like the construction of the comp cams limiters better, but the livernois and the BBR are cheaper. Do the limit the same ammount? And will they have the same effect on the 127500 cams????

If you go with the 127500 cams you should consider using limiters that are intended to limit the VCT to the same degree. I would go with the Livernois limiters though because they are spring loaded which really does cut out the phaser clicking noise. Some guys have installed the Comp limiters only to be pissed off about all of the noise.

The VCT system really is more for emission control than performance and using lockouts doesn't rob you of any noticable power.

i like the construction of comps also, but i'd like to hear some of the livernoise to see if the clicking really would be gone due to the use of a spring.

They limit the amount camshaft retarding or advancing to 20 deg. so you don't have valve to piston problems with high lift cams etc..

Gotcha. Thanks. And how does that come into affect with making power. Will you gain more or less depending on what you set it at

You want to keep the VCT still functiong, some companies totally lock out the VCT but it has been proven on the dyno that there is 10-15 hp gain if you retain VCT and have cam timing properly tuned.

I think that is how I gained so much power with a set of thumpr cams maybe. They spent a long time getting the VCT tuned right on my car, besides just turning it off like alot of shops will do to you.
