Ford FR500CJ Cobra Jet tr6060

FRPP Cobra Jet tr6060

Any info on gearing? Would Ford leave it with the same 5th OD gear as the gt500?

The 9" axle and one piece aluminum driveshaft look hot too.

I don't know sorry but if you're interested in buying it you can get it 300 bucks cheaper here: Joe Heck Racing - Online Parts

Just scroll down the page and you'll find it.

Interesting. Still wondering what constitutes "drag racing applications only".

drag race only...........just read. Its a narrowed rear end. It has a SPOOL (not street friendly)......4.10 gears........yeah thats not a good street axle (unless your me) lol

Gears are also an "off road" item in many states because they effect the emission output of the vehicle. (higher cruising RPM)

Does anyone know if the CJ TR6060 is a stronger trans than the GT500 TR6060 or is it just modified for drag racing only by adding the spool and some other unlisted components?

Its not "bad" service. Its just the people answering the phones don't know jack shit about cars half the time and they don't know how to get in touch with people that DO know something about it.

Yeah well I think they need to fix it. I'd probably get more help on MM than on the phone with FRPP.

yes you would. Unless you got one of the guys in charge. The people answering the phone are there for "hey I need a part # XXXXX...........sure give me your info"

I have called a few times and most of them know a little bit, i'm being a bit harsh on them. But alot of times they are oblivious to what is going on in this world.

I bet the people who work at FRPP to answer the phones are not doing the job because they want to help people, they probably are just waiting for the days to go by so they can get their pay check.

no problem...........anytime you see that word "spool", it should say "no turns" out beside it lol..............I'm doing a spool in my car just because its cheap, BUT I would not recommend one for anyone that drives mostly on the street.

FRPP isn't run like a real company so therefore they really have no need to act like one.

I see that the trans is built by Liberty Gears. They probably call it drag race only because the gears are straight cut and noisy as hell. That's just a theory.

there are the other things to consider as well... cross member... 26 spline set up... one piece DS... it would be closer to 4500 before it could even be attempted to install
