Tires?

I just purchased some MT radials for the track so I am good there. I currently have BFG KDW's on my car and I hate them. I am thinking about going with the Nitto Extremes in 255//35/20's. Any reviews on these tires. Let me know what you think. Also, where is the cheapest place to purchase them?

if you want to run a wide street tire with grip that gets decent life for a drag radial, id look at the Nitto 555Rs for 20 inch wheels. I don't know how wide your rear wheels are, but they make a 305/35/20 that im itching for.

I like discount tire direct, here is there website for nitto tires. Nitto tires for car & light truck

If you go with Nitto's get their drag radials (555r's) the regular 555's suck for the street.

how wide are your rims?

Why you say the 555s suck? I got em and they are great. The NT05s are an option as well, in between the 555 street tire and 555r drag radial.

alright quick question, seems a lot of you guys on here LIKE Nitto's tires, but i have heard from a lot of people that they are not a good tire. I've heard they are too cheap and hard to get good traction. Im trying to find out some info on tires cause im into the autoX and road course so i want a good sticky tire. thanks for any advice!

Agreed !! The Nitto NT555R are awesome street tires and perform pretty damn good on the track. Great for a daily driver, IMO.

For AutoX and road courses, maybe you should look at the Toyo R888's or RA1's, if you don't want to get Nitto's. If you're looking for a longer tread life, I used to run the Toyo T1R's which were great. I got a pair in my garage with about 12K on them.

Toyo's are a bit pricy, but well worth the $.

So the rim size is 9, just checking? $294 for the 555r is a lot of coin. Might need to look for another option. What about the Sumitomo High performance HTR Z III 255/45/18?

If the 555R is too much for you then just get the 555. Nitto 555 is a great tire, I dont care what anyone says. My 98 has 555's in the front and 555R's in the rear. My 06 has 555's all around will be getting 555R's in the rear this spring.

I run the Sumitomo HTR Z III 275/40/18's for street tires, not a bad tire, may even try them at the track just to see what kind of 60's I can get out of them. but honestly next set I think I'll try some Nitto Invo 275/40/18's

The Nitto 555s are nice for daily street driving and aren't too expensive either. I've heard the Nitto INVOs are good all-around tires, but not as good as the 555s for straightline and the tread pattern is just crazy looking. Maybe check out the new Nitto NT05s.

My Toyo T1Rs and R888 are really good tires. The T1Rs are great street tires and the R888s are great for handling, but not so much for straightline. The R888s are alittle pricey and they won't last too long either.

I've had Goodyear Eagle F1's DS-G3's for 12,000 miles and haven't looked back. Will be purchasing them again for my next set of tires. Best summer tire I've owned.

not any more expensive then the nitto 555r's that have been mentioned. Or Michelin Pilot Sports for that matter. You're gonna pay good $$$ for a good tire
