i think for most of us that can get a decent loan rate; a trade up for the '5.0' would be about the same cost a s/c on our current motor.

08trade in ~20-22k
s/c+upgrades ~5-7k
------------------------
25-29k

2011 5.0 --- ?? im guessing under 30.

the real question is will the supposed 400hp be like the 300hp on the 4.6- where you can pull out another 50hp for 1k in mods, or will the 5.0 be like some of the other cars (350z) where the motor is pretty much maxed out from the factory.

if you can get some light mods to be close to 450hp and 12.5s or so i think i would rather have that than a heavily modded s/c 3v 1/2 sec faster...

There is going to be some room. I here 500hp with cams,headers,CAI and a more aggressive tune. The compression ratio is said to be high though so FI with lower boost will be required.
It all depends what our trade in value will bring next spring/summer or it may be better to sell the car out right.
