Tranny fluid drip.
Found a spot on the driveway last night, thought it was engine oil but it is tranny fluid. Dripping from front of (auto) tranny and wonder what might be the needed fix, not much of a drip but it is there, if it were the converter and or housing would the leak be more pronounced as it might release at high pressure or is it the seal around the input shaft?
I thought I saw something like this before and it was just once last year but I had someone over who might have left the drip in the driveway, It went away so I don't know. No performance issues noticed. Anyone seen this yet? |

Look or feel at the top of the tranny and feel where your overflow hose hooks onto the tranny.See if that little plastic piece is broke or cracked.Had it happen to me and that was the problem.

I took it for a few short trips today and the spot got smaller and smaller as the day went. The plastic cap on the vent is fine as for the overflow connection I could not tell if it had been compromised, and somehow for me is not a good answer when I show up at the track and they tell me my night is finished during qualifiers...if you know what I mean.

Mine started leaking/dripping less and less because the tranny fluid was getting lower. After some hard runs, I finally checked it when I seen no more leaks and I found out I was a little low.
Try to follow the hose up and right where it connects, was where I found my problem.Hope you get it fixed. |

Double Trouble, had the transmission vent problem and now have the solution, then just for safety sake since we had the inspection plate off we looked at the rear main seal, damn, leak.
Hope to be getting the car back, soon. Thanks for the help. |
