11.94 on 20" nitto 555's
"How in the hell did that just happen???" was what I was thinking after that run.
The weather was pretty good 82 deg and mild humidity. I just don't get how I could run .24 slower than my best run on M&H drag radials.. on 20" Nitto's at full pressure. I launched at idle and it didn't slip at all, 1.92 60' , 123 mph. I guess I need smaller DRs but the 20"s seem the same height...

I think it might be about tire size... OK tire guyz... what is the height of a 255/35 20" vs 325/45 17"

your clutch might be slipping on the drag radials. I feel your pain I went to the track a couple weeks ago and couldn't get my nitto drag radials to hook and was running between 11.8-12.2 @ 126-128 mph.

I guess it could be the clutch... spec 3 clutches aren't all that...

Livernois has been making hot passes on the 20" radials since they released. One of the main reasons I elected to put them on, that and I burned through several sets of street tires dancing all over the street. Good to see another car doing it on the same tire. I made all my 11 sec passes on 18" nittos and have yet to make a prepped pass on the 20's.
I can manipulate the tire pretty good on the street, so I'm expecting to have some confidence on a prepped surface. Did you try any passes with a higher launch rpm? |

11's on 20's is impressive. I know you were not as quick, but you were faster.

325/45/17 = 28.52" diameter tread width (255) X sidewall aspect ratio (35%) X 2 (2 sidwalls in the daimeter) / 25.4 (conversion from mm to inches) + 20 (rim diameter) = 27.03" tire height/diameter. 325 X .45 X 2 / 25.4 + 17 = 28.52" I run a 28.8" tire and that drops my effective gear ration from 4.10 to 3.84 compared to the stock tire size.

Are you talking about the Drag Radials or the 'standard' 555s?
Emay, do you recall what times they were running? I know they were running a 20x10" wheel with 305/35/20 Nitto NT555Rs. I thought they were running 10s or low 11s on them.

these are just the street 555's... what size tire do I need for a 17" wheel to be 27" tall??
I suck at math... I am going to try it though Rep U Boss

If you want to stay with the 325, a 325/40 would be 27.23", which is pretty darn close. A 325/35 would be just under 26".

I run 12.20 on 275/45 17s mickeys drag radials and 12.40 on my 305/35 20s Nitto drag radials. 20s are so tall I dont even get to fourth gear!
