SLP LM Axleback 05 GT

Just a quick question, I am looking at getting the above mentioned for my 05 GT. So far the best price I got is at LMPerformance Link---http://www.lmperformance.com/5535/73.html

My question's are, first. Anyone had any experience with this company. Second, Is the $300 a good price? From what I have seen, the cheapest I can find is this one and the next closest is $350.

Thanks

yeah 300 is a great price. i ordered mine from RPMoutlet and it is like 315 from them, but by the time i paid tax and shipping it was 350. you should ask chad on the vendors forum. he is with crazylegs racing. great guy and always very helpful with good prices.

I'm not sure if they stock their exhaust parts. I ordered some axle backs from them and they were drop shipped from Ca. to SC. Took a couple of weeks as I remember.

Yeah, I figured I would call them and make sure they have them in stock first before I ordered them. I would pay a little more if I could get them sooner. Might have to check some other places and make sure they are in stock and will be shipped sooner. Looking to order this weekend.

ManOWar, did your friend just go with straight exhaust with just tips? How did it compare to the SLP sound. I love the loud 60's sounding exhaust. I used to have a 66 Impala with about 400hp with straight exhaust that sounded great, Damn I miss that car. The Stang eases my pain though!!!!

yep, Straight pipes and tips. The CC's muffle the exhaust note enough so it's not to loud during moderate driving but when you get on it, she really talks to ya. They sound the same as SLP Loudmouths!!!

I have a GT and I removed the mufflers completely and loved it. the sound was loud, droned real bad, but I drew attention from everyone. I just put the SLP Loud Mouths on my car two days ago and it doesnt drone. Plus it is quiet in the car when I drive. I am thinking of getting a X pipe for the car along with a cut out ported exhaust.

I got some 4", dual walled, rolled tip tips from Summit, and had a custom axle-back made for just under $100. Sounds better in my opinion.

The SLP LoudMouths are loud just not as loud as no mufflers. I had more fun with no exhaust on the car! thats why I am going to put on some flowtech cutouts....$69 for a very loud car!!!! Plus when you put the cover back on the exhaust goes back through your mufflers

Hey Jat,

I am planning to instal myself. From what I heard it is pretty easy. I will let you know when I get it done. I can't wait, so tired of the stock exhaust. Way to quiet.

Miafan,

Let me know the difference the x pipe made on the sound. That might be my next step. Depends on the sound with all the stock parts and the SLP axlebacks.

i already have the x pipe, i'm just changing the mufflers from bassani to loudmouths. upgrading mufflers will hold you over for a little bit but your goin to want that x pipe it's lounder and different sound (less drone)

just make sure you align the tips when you put them on. you have to mess with them for a minute, but it isn't a pain or anything
