Underdrive pullies?

I was thinking about putting the steeda underdrive pullies on my 06 gt but im worried about how much it will affect my accessorieslike my a/c? Any one know how much it affects the accessories? Also is it worth all the effort for the horsepower gains?

Took the plunge and ordered UDPs (Steeda brand) and spent the morning yesterday installing the pullies, C&L cold air intake and SCT 91 tune from brenspeed. Went and rented the Chrys type 3 jaw puller and proceeded with the install following the instructions from Steeda. I'am the type of guy that follows every detail even wipe down my tools and put them back in the tool box after using each one. After about 2 hours the install was complete and loaded the tune from my SCT and changed the gear ratio to 3.90 after having the gears installed earler in the week. Could not wait to go take a drive and experience the Holy Sh## diffrence that everybody tells us about. Well sat down turned the key and started her up and could here the sound of the new CAI and the way she would rev up. After she warmed up a bit i heard a sound that sounded like metal scraping and a knocking sound coming from the front of the motor, shut her down right away. Took a visual look but could not see anything. I proceeded to remove the W/P pully to make sure it was clearing because you need to replace the lower r/s alt bolt, no issues. I said damn what the hell could it be the only other thing i could think of would be the balancer. Proceeded to remover the Steeda pulley got her off and this is what I found: The snout on the Steeda balancer is approx 1/16" shorter than the Orig Ford Balancer. This caused the balancer to sit too far back when pressed onto the crankshaft when torq down. This caused the balancer to hit the front case of the motor. I called Dave at Brenspeed and told him the problem, he said he has never seen this problem before and has sold many of them and he only stocks for the 05+ Mustangs. I sent the photos to Dave so he could see the problem and forward them to the Steeda rep. Dave did tell me that Steeda has a new manufacture producing there Pullies now, the old ones were produced overseas and the new ones are produced in the USA and only have been on the market about 5 weeks. The weight on the new balancer is larger than the prior ones. Look at the photos and you can see where the problem is. If any of you order Steeda or any other brands make sure to check the the length of the snout.

i went with Moto-Blue pulley set from RPM Outlet for $150. Noticable powergain 8hp. The stock belt will work but will squeal like a loud mouse, so a 1/2 inch shorter GATES belt is necessary. Otherwise no complaints. 3 pieces came in the set .

yea if your belts are squealing, I'd make sure you have the pulley on all the way or at least torqued to the right specs.
