I wouldn't be suprised if those werent SPR cams. I had two well known shops referering to SPR cams as thumpr's in that time frame. Even had a guy argue with me that I had thumpr cams in my car. LOL. It came from comp not listing Thumpr cams and adding SPR cams. Some people just assumed Thumpr cams were the nick name for the new SPR cams.

They loose low end power, or my name isnt Rich
A while back, I am pretty sure I read on their site that those were SPR cams. I can't find that page now though. The graph shows them not losing low end power. I doubt they made up the graph, BUT....look at where the rpm starts. They did manged to not start the chart until 2500.

I wouldn't be suprised, heck all it basically requires is cleaning the valve cover gasket, valve cover gasket groove, and head surface, rotating the crank to 12 then 6 o clock, taking off the valve covers/things connected to them, cam sensors, phaser bolts, stock cams, battery/battery tray, CAI, 3 followers(by using compressor tool), and the cam journal bearing caps, using the timing chain wedge to keep the timing chain from rotating any ticks, and putting everything back on.

But when you reinstall the stuff you replace the stock cams with NSR Cams and the now torque stretched stock phaser bolts with new ones, then you also have to put new PTV sealant on the valve covers.

I can't believe I have this crap memorized.

True, very true, it's just that having it memorized gives me more confidence in me and my dad not screwing up if we do it ourselves, even though I doubt we will at this point.

Update....

Was just looking at Comp Cams website, and they're claiming that SPR cams lose nothing down low. So yeah that Dynospeed Racing dyno I posted here must have been SPR.

Comp Cams info - Ford 3 Valve Camshafts

Comp Cams dyno charts. Check out the SPR series...looks real close to stock at lower rpm levels. - Ford 3 Valve Camshafts

No, there is plenty of low end balls. You have to remember when they make a dyno pull they try to keep it in a 1:1 ratio which is 4th gear. So yeah, they gun it in 4th gear at about 1500 rpms. In real life when we race we don't do that, so figures below 2000 rpms are not that important in the racer world, IMO.

You loose a little down low yes. You need 4.10s with those cams. If you have 4.10s, its not problem, 3.55s or less, its going to be a dog. No matter what any dyno says.

Yeah, I guess with the 4.10s it gets you into the range quick. If I could ever figure out how to get my youtube vid on this website, I would post it. Anybody know how ?
