I think what Rich means by hooking too much is instead of the tires wanting to turn aka wanting the car to go forward, they try to stay in their current position on the cement, so it slows you down. Am I right on this Rich?

Not the point of this thread anyway. just a call out to all the so call n/a cars knocking on 11s door. Pregancy takes less time. Moses found his was outta the desert faster then these guys. I mean, you got the same times for a year. Its time for a new game plan, waiting on good weather isnt the best plan.

Anyway, if you bog the engine it kills the car, E.T and MPH, if you spin to much its no good as well. But the more rpms you can leave with, and not just roast the tires, the better. Chirping through first is better then bogging.

Oh no ts cool post away, please. I just wanted you to know that im not just randomly being an asshole.

And yes part of me, based on my car just doesnt feel that 90 and 95 degree days are this big killer.

I mean, come on. Like these guys are getting 100% outta their car in the first place to know that a little hot weather hurt them.

I mean we are talking 300 350 maybe 400 hp cars. Not 800 hp blown race cars. Different ballgame.

Its always fun at the race track last year, guys are like man when the sun goes down you should get another couple MPH. Man put down the joint. Sun goes down Ill probably blow the tires off.

Its funny they dont even pick up any time but they still wait for it to cool down every night.

I like you Rich and your very helpful& knowledgeable but I agree with it all but the location! Bristol is a proven .4-.5 slower than other tracks, I dont know if its elevation or the mountains causing lack of air flow or what but a bunch of us went to 2-3 other tracks and all of us ran anywhere from .4-.5 faster with tires and same drivers, good drivers that run within a tenth every time. Other drivers come down here & instantly start thinking they have problems till they start talking to us! I would like to caome race with you guys, when is this going down & where?

Rich-I hope you aren't calling me out in my car buddy ") I will have to show you that the auto will outrun the 5 speed...j/k
Now someone will say a auto is easier to drive..... so STFU
There is alot of "I can't get my car to run that,so you didn't either..You're just spewing bs". I bet you hear that as much as me don't ya Rich? The driver does play a big role in all this and I can't help it if I drive better than those that say that shit!
I will take their 5 speed and run a better time than them. What would their excuse be then?

Rich- you have done great things with your car getting it into the 11's as I have and a few others.I don't brag about it,but hate it when someone calls BS.If you guys ever get close to KY and want your asses handed to ya,just look me up.WTG Rich.

That can have to do with a lot of factors too, not just elevation and track prep. Like around here, one of our tracks has a dip in the middle, that can effect it. Variances in the timing equiptment can as well. My brother ran 12.90 in a 99 Mustang a few years ago at route 66, that never went faster than 13.20s at any other track. We have no explanation for this. Maybe the ricers that rented the track (it was an RSX track day) had the clocks sped up lol.

I'm not sure what this is all about, so I'll just say two things:

First, Rich, come race me, my car is practically stock but I'll outrun your ass every time, just because it's Alloy, and everyone knows alloy cars are lighter and have less wind resistance. If the weather is right. And the elevation is right. And the sun is down. So COMMON MAN! Come get you some come-up-ins.

Second, I have just made it my official goal to follow mf123 around correcting anything wrong with his spelling or grammar I love the internet spelling corrections. I probably make all kinds of typos online because I type too fast and who gives a shit, but 3 different college English teachers told me I'm in the wrong line of work.. go figure...

Chad and Rich, I really look forward to shaking your hands almost as much as I like reading the banter. 1st round is on me gentlemen.

Rich, you know us NA guys pay dearly when the air is poor. The DA skyrockets and you know you are working on driving skills not setting ET records.

Any passes after Cecil? I know where you stand. Last April when I broke into the 80's at Englishtown all the local GTO boys were quick to reference the NE Correction Factor. 2 weeks later I backed it up and shaved off .003 at Gainesville. No more trash talk.

This year I had to go Big Bore to keep up with the LS strokers. I knew 11.50's were not going to cut it. Since then I have placed the car on serious weight reduction (myself included), lightened up the drivetrain, improved the suspension and will continue to finesse the driving skills for the next couple of months.

Anyone plan on attending Charlotte or National Trail prior to the event? If so catch me in the pits.

How you doing man. You like that trash talk? LOL.

Yea i know part of the problem is I only have the one trip to MIR this year. Thats where the 11s happened. Time and mechanical issues keep me from going back.

Im on my fifth rear since last october and this one is whineing and leaking and as usual all the experts in the world have no clue right. never a cop when you need one. Two hole new 8.8s and two rebuilds. It keeps burning up.

Im thinking its like something broke on a UCA thats letting things move around or a vibration in the trans thats just vibrating the pinion, damaging the bearings and the seal. Its something weird. Anyway, its at a ford dealership right now, if i can get this figured out, and if I have to buy a new trans then ill work all that out. And get back to the track and do like you said, end the ?s with a back up run.

The only other stupid thing I can think of is the vent on the rear, when you buy a new housing you keep reusing the vent, is it plugged and overheating the thing. IDK. But either way the vibration in the drivetrain is there and I switched DS's 3 times, its not that. Ill get it back to the track, just in time to smoke chad.

Anyway congrats on the big boss.

[QUOTE=07stanggt;2188854]Since I havent really BLOGED lately. I'm in the mood.

Excuses. Sorry, 20 degress doesnt equal a 1/2 second. Your tuner lied to you, your builder didnt want to loss your business.

Not on this car, not with the pcm doing its thing. If it does on your car then your set up sucks. I got bad news for you, my best time last year was in august, 98 degrees.

If you search the internet you would have to come to the conclusion that headers, cams, CAI's, gears, butterflies or no butterflies, trans, and weight on a car have no real bearing on acceleration.

I mean guys must think that any port job, any header length and design, and any cam basically makes the same power. If you look at this closely, guys with "heads, cams and full bolt ons think their cars should all be equal, regardless of different brand names and hence different designs.

Thats utterly retarded. For that it to even be possible that all our cars would perform the same regardless of differences in intake designs, different port jobs, different cam grinds, different header designs would mean that all this stuff is a waste anyway.

Furthermore, just becuase you have a dyno saying cam A only gained 10 more HP then cam B doesnt mean that cam A will only deliver 1 more tenth then cam B in the real world on a race track. Don't bring your dyno debates into the real world. I wont even get into to this argument but a cam that only shows 10 more peak hp on a dyno could easily be good for 3 tenths at the drag strip.

You then have the guys with stage III cams and Stage III heads wondering why they just are not automatically faster.

I mean if you dont expect a difference in track times on a cam with a .550 lift over a cam with a .470 lift. 490/480 here...Why the hell buy any cam. And did you ever stop to think that maybe the 4.56s werent helping you, um... NO... this comming from a guy that swears he could run 11's w/ nsr stage II's, so... you saying .45 lift as good as your .55??? Oh, and w/ these wonderful NSR stage II's you ran as fast as I did w/ stock cams in the middle of July in Houston!! Thus, you, nor your car are anything special.

Please, no more strawberry... Im a fan of grape

also i know the cam statement was confusing to you. But when you find out what my car will run now with the .530 lift stage II cams you will understand why I say it would do 11s with nsr cams.

All in good time. Get to work, you got a long way to go freind.

I wish I knew the answer to that! lol... been my Everest!

WAY too much road/cornering suspension, dropping an inch in tire...

Those will be addressed in time...

No work to be done... I do my own, so a few hours, day tops... you have to wait a week or so to have someone f' up your rear end over and over again... beginning to think you like it!
