I believe they are rated at 350 rwtq but there are a LOT of us who have way more than that and they are holding up. I'm currently pushing 475+ rwtq through it with zero problems.

Think an engine putting down 380 with an additional 175 shot would be to much?

Do you think a stage 2+ clutch would be okay for my application?

And your TR3650 is stock and handling that?

I think its more to do with setup and usage. I mean, 600 rwhp on radials, your not hooking, your not really shocking or straining anything, just smoking rubber.

400hp on slicks dumping the clutch at 5k. You're putting a beating to things.

let us know when you break it. Mine seems to have held up well.

Emay is the only NON straight drag racer that i know that has damaged the 3650 and that was a 5th to 3rd downshift at 80 i think with 500hp to the wheels and a 4.10 rear. Ask him about it. He cracked some things.

Well most of the abuse is most likely going to occur from a roll, I really don't plan on dropping the clutch at 5k from a dig

I agree. Most of the abuse is going to be from full on drag slicks and high RPM dumps on a well prepped track. The times that I've pulled a ~1.7 I dead hooked and had great track prep. Otherwise with poor track prep I can only manage around 2.0 60's with off idle launches otherwise it's just spinning for the first 330'..

Power shifting (specially 1-2) would put some strain as well.
To a lesser degree than dumping and dead hooking thou...

How in the hell does someone go from 5th to 3rd...racing from a roll? Sure hope it wasn't from missing 4th.

Ever try to punch it when going 50-ish mph? 4th won't cut it.

How in the heck do you hit 3rd by missing 4th though? One's on top of the other....

It works with 4.10s and 450rwtq.

And that's why I was asking how he went from 5th to 3rd. Can't see it happening unless he did it on purpose.

It was done outright on purpose trying to hold off my brothers cobra that's got me by a hundred horse.

I also believe the drive shaft may have been out of balance in that pass and helped finish off the tail shaft. It shuttered on the initial hit, but was one of the worse sounds I have heard coming to the top of 4th. The shaft went in for balancing after the damage just to be sure all was okay and it was 1/4 ounce out (super significant at 6200 rpm).

Anyway, I see plenty of 550-600hp cars rolling the trans as is with upgraded clutches and they hold just fine.

Here's the shots of my breakage last year:

I downshift to 3rd at 70 but I do have stock 3.55s so that makes a difference but 4th just doesn't count it for highway pulls.
