call JDM Performance, they use the C&L cold air intake and have a great tune for the complete setup!

your gonna need a tune, trust me. its going to need it for the calibration of the MAF meter, cause if you dont calibrate that, its going to throw your car out of whack for sure, even with the blower on it!

i dont think saleen will tune a C&L intake, but I thought the saleen kits already came with a CAI, unless your still using the stock airbox. but if you want to use the C&L intake, I'd recommend getting it tuned by JDM.

nope, it was still the stock air box....stock filter and all...the only thing i have on my setup is....S/C, with a 90mm tb.....but, I need to get some good ol cold air going into it. Can I do the tune myself if I get a diablo, or whatever brand tuner....or should I let someone else do it. Im a little confused with the tuning...I had a 2000 mustang gt before, and needless to say, it wasnt this flippen complicated just to put on a cold air.......I hate technology, but love my stang....this sucks

to be on the safe side of things, its better to let someone who is experience in tuning do the work. the new computers on the new mustangs are soo strict, even the slightest change will throw a CEL to your vehicle.

give JDM a call, they will be able to help you out.

This is what I was told, if you have a S/C the tuner that comes with the kit, NOT the X-Cal or the other brand you buy when you do the CAI is wasted money after you S/C. The one that comes with the S/C kit is the one you will use and send back after post S/C installs. I have been told that by 2 S/C installers. Maybe some of the ole timers and peps with stang exp might shed some light on this subject.

when you buy the saleen direct, you are bolting your stock airbox back onto the s/c and saleen will send you a tune for the stock airbox. they will not tune for a CAI. thats why I recommended JDM. JDM is an authorized Saleen dealer, but he does not use the stock airbox. he gets the best performance out of the saleen kits using a C&L racer intake.

so if you call them, they will send you a xcal2 along with a tune and the CAI and the numbers you will produces are awesome. you wont have a blower trying to use a restrictive stock airbox.

but its always good to have a xcal. a benefit of having the xcal is say he wants to upgrade to 4.10 gears or bigger rims, the xcal is great to have for all you have to do is tell the tuner through the on screen menu what you have and it will automatically calibrate you car so your speedometer is not off. but it can also be used clear CEL or read trouble codes, in the even that you have a CEL light. an xcal is the tool to have for the new mustangs! if your a computer geek, datalogging is great using the xcal!

you will buy both the CAI and the tuner, I believe. You tell him what mods you also have done to the vehicle. He will send you both the CAI and tuner with the proper tune loaded into the xcal, you bolt the CAI on, plug in the tuner, upload the tune, and your off!
