Radio(Shaker 500) and Windshield Wipers dead. Any solution?
This morning, around 6 am, I go out to move my car for street sweeping. I go to hit my wipers to wipe my windows so I can see. Nothing, they don't move no matter which way I go with the lever.
I just brush it off at the time since I just woke up and figure the fuse has gone out or something and I'll fix it in the afternoon. I go back in the house, wake up at 3pm today, and then my younger brother tells me the radio is dead too now. so I head outside and my radio isn't even showing the time. So I start the car, windshield wipers are still dead, and then I fiddle with the radio and nothing. Completely out. The fuses are not blown, they're getting power as well. Just had my alternator replaced because of the shitty defect in the stock one nearly fucked me over on the freeway. Replacement was done about a month ago now. No problems since, everything else in the car works from the mycolor gauges, to any small electronic detail. All work perfectly. I'm waiting right now, left my battery unhooked on the slim hope that everything will start working again, but I highly doubt it. Does anyone know what could be wrong here? |

Did you check the relays? Sound like either a fuse or relay, so... Hope to help.

Sorry, guess I didn't make it clear, first thing I did was check the fuses. relays I'm gonna check in a minute, so hopefully that's what's wrong.

No, I saw it, but no harm in checking again as long as your going to under there checking the relays.

The fuse for my shaker wasn't the same as the wipers i'm pretty sure, cuz i had to pull mine while i was in IA in order to get the shaker to quit drawing down my battery

Gungho:Thanks, I'll go down there and look around, maybe I knocked something out down there. Also, welcome to the forum.
Petyweestra:Just got a brand new battery about two weeks ago, along with my alternator. Both are running strong, so I can't see it being that. After checking every fuse inside and out, they're all good. Does anyone know which relay works goes with the radio/wipers? In the manual I saw that there's only one relay that looks like it might go with the radio, was an accessory relay. Everything else was specific and none had to do with the radio/wipers so I think the only relay possible would be the accessory one, but even then I don't think wipers would be under accessory. |
