Question

MyColor for Deluxe GT

I missed out on one of my favorite factory Ford accessories when I purchased my Mustang. The leather I can live without, though I'll upgrade to that one day. But I did not know what I was missing with the MyColor option. My dealer never explained this to me, so it wasn't until I drove around in my buddy's 05 GT that I realized what I did not get. He simply asked if I wanted leather...

It's probably gay, but I love the option to change the colors of the gauges. I have the Ambience lights, and I love them. I do not currently have the money to do this but I really want to know:

Is it possible to get the MyColor gauges working in my Deluxe GT? If so, any recommendations on which parts I should look for? I.e. wiring harness, instrument cluster, switches on the dash, etc?

If you have any idea, I'd be uber-appreciative just to know if this would be a possibility! Thanks guys

What's up, Juco? Why is this the case?

And no luck on ebay, Kuro...

My 06 had every option from the factory except the Sharker 1k. Was the only car on the lot(or any lot in the local area for that matter) that was a manual transmission model. Also the only black model.

Anyways, I loved the MyColor option from the moment I turned it on. I usually keep mine on the custom color, which I have set to 0/0/0. In pictures it seems to come up with a purple kind of tint, but in person the I love how it looks. It's like having smoked gauges or something similar.

You'll love it when you get it done.

Yeah man I can't wait! Such a small option but it will make such a big difference when I drive at night... Praying it doesn't cost too much, but something tells me it will be ridiculous.

I wanna say I remember it being around 500 to get the whole thing done. Not for sure though.

Your right, the my color option is pretty cool. Keep after it and you'll find one, maybe you could get one from an earlier Mustang that has been totaled, if they are the same. Call some salvage yards and since the dealer has to reset the odometer age doesn't matter. Good luck with the hunting.

Check the classifieds on the Mustang forums. I saw one listed last week on either Mustang Source or S197Forum. If I come across it I'll let you know.

Only problem is that the cluster will display the mileage from the previous car.

I've heard that if you order from ford, you "input your mileage" before they ship. But the dealers never check the accuracy of the claim

I thought my color came with the gauge package. Which ads the two additional lower gauges. Or was that the appearance upgrade package. Seemed like every GT on the lot had that when I was shopping.

I'm gonna hit up my dealer tonight and give them the information from that guy on Mustang Source and see if they have any ideas... If not, I'll buy directly from him!

They'd have to reprogram the cluster at the dealership. Mileage and change over the security system to match your keyfob, etc.
