^Very good thread. And "streetable" is a relative term. My friend's completely gutted LSX swapped BMW with one seat, no ac, and no power anything is "streetable" in his eyes.

Streetable also implies being able to pass safety and other State inspections. In our case with the engine bay empty, I know a lot emissions stuff is being deleted in addition to AC, sound system and such. So although our car could be driven on the street, don't think it will be streetable. You can take a lot more liberties with weight reduction when state laws and curves are no longer an issue.

I would disagree with your definition of streetable...my car cant pass inspection and it is very streetable..

you could throw straight pipes on a stock GT and it would be "unstreetable" according to that definition

If it cannot pass state inspection and you were stopped...would it be removed from the street or would you be shut down?

you'd still be wrong, just because a car can't pass inspection in california doesn't make it unstreetable, no car passes inspection in california, it's why they're broke.

standard safety and inspection laws in the US would make a pretty reasonable baseline for "streetable".

In Louisiana, we have to renew something called a "brake tag". It's a sticker issued by DMV to show that the car is safe to drive...has all the necessary equipment etc. When our tag expires, I don't see it being renewable... and without the tag, the vehicle cannot be driven on the street legally. At that point, it's unstreetable.

But it is the cops that dictate what is streetable. Take your recent experiences with the barricade...why did you change the car's appearance...because it was starting to become such a hassle or becoming unstreetable.

my definition of streetable meens to keep the ac and take off anything of no real necessity for daily driving for example power seats, power windows and such.

so after reading that thread, it says the most you can drop is about 30lbs from removing the rear seats and hardware, then to add the delete kit adds another 9lbs...where the hell do the companies who sell the kits come up with you dropping 45lbs?
