Radio and wipers dead, fuses and relays checked and are good. Any suggestions?
After going through all fuses and relays(I had checked just the necessary ones first but I started nutting up and checking everything) every single one is good to go. No problems. But my radio is completely dead.
Pulled out the head unit, and before I checked the wires for power, I plugged in my other double din touchscreen I had and also received no power. I just did that to assure myself right then and there it wasn't just the stock unit. I proceeded to check the wiring, and they're not receiving any power when they should be. I've checked every fuse and relay in the car going on about 9 times each at this point. It's not a problem to take the car into ford to take care of it, but after having taken the car in to have more than one thing fixed at a time when I take good care of it compared to my other cars which haven't had a single thing go wrong since I've had them, I'm beginning to get pretty pissed off that every week something new has gone wrong. I've bought two other mustangs since I got my first in 06, but this shit's getting annoying with my newest mustang. My older ones should be having all these things going wrong with them. I've gotta drive basically 2 hours tomorrow to and from my destination. I would rather take this car instead of my Corvette, but obviously I would rather have the radio for the ride. |

I'll see if I can post this partial wiring schem. for the radio. There are fuses in the BEC under the hood and 1 fuse and a relay in the SJB. For some reason I can't paste the diagram over.

Unhook the battery, see if it resets now that you fixed the wipers.

I'm home now, for some reason my second post didn't get posted from my blackberry.
Right after I posted my last message that showed up here, I was about to pull out of the parking space to get back on the road, and then I stopped, went outside and just pushed all the fuses down a little bit. Didn't seem like they moved at all to me, but that did it. My wipers stopped working because of that small harness on the driver side near the clutch, and the radio stopped because the fuses weren't pushed in enough. Kind of weird that for me and some other people it seems that both just happen to go out at the same exact time, when in my case it was two completely separate parts of the car that caused two different problems. They couldn't have influenced eachother at all. Anyways, thanks everyone, made my drive back so much better instead of having to sit in silence. Reps given. Also, the battery thing was the first thing I did. |
