LCA noise problems
I put on the BMR LCA's the other day and everything was easy to put on and enjoyable from the get go......until now
I have a very noticeable noise after hitting even the slightest bump. I checked the torque and all is good but when I go to hand check them they move laterally about an 1/8th of an inch (both sides). I put more grease in and that seemed to take care of the noise for a day or two. I checked them this morning and they became loose again (laterally, not the torque). The noise is back, does anybody have the same prob?

You did put them in the right, way, right? They have an offset.
Also, if you reused the factory flagbolt on the drivers side, check that it isn't rubbing against the rear sway bar.

That is weird. Sounds like their not holding their grease, maybe defective grease fittings?
There's a BMR rep who frequents this site, maybe try flagging them down or contacting BMR?

The point being like efly said is that the offset to the bushing is facing in. And the bushing with the offset is in the rear, or mounted to the axle not the chassis. As far as the lateral play. Some is certainly normal, i mean, a solid axle moves side to side as the suspenion travels up and down. So how much play are we talking really. Does the bushing look blown out, is there a gap between the bushing and the sleeve ETC. Dont over grease it. Last edited by 07stanggt; August 5th, 2009 at 01:11 PM. |

With my BMR billet LCA's the offset bushings were removable and I was able to move it over to the opposite side of the LCA so that the BMR logo points outwards. As Rich said the offset points inwards and at the back attached to the axle. Regardless of which way the BMR logo points.

UPdate, talked with Dennis at BMR and he gave me a few suggestions (washer on the inside of the nut and another on the inside of the bolt head), for this weekend. Thanks to all.

What do you mean lateral movement? Like you can move the arm back and forth, like the bushing isn't tight in the mount? Did you tighten them enough (129 foot pounds) and put them in correctly? My BMR arms are tight as can be. They also had no logos (aren't billet).
