Clutch and Brakes

I know we have hydraulic clutches, but do they use the same fluid as the Brakes? I installed my GT500 Brembos yesterday and added stainless steel lines so i had to bleed the brakes. When i went to go drive after, my clutch felt super light and engaged way smoother.

Is my deductive reasoning correct?

Here's a pic of the brakes, there are alot more in the "pictures" section

Yes they use the same fluid, and the same resevior. But you are probably imagining any change in clutch feel. The clutch master cylinder takes fluid from the brake resevior through a hose towards the back of it. ANything you do to the brakes will have no effect on the fluid trapped in that hose or in the clutch circuit itself.

Next time i need pads and rotors ill upgrade. I got the calipers with pads, lines, and the rotors for 600 bucks and they had 200 miles on them, so i wasn't going to toss away perfect rotors

Yes sir, you are correct. Brake fluid is used for the hydraulic linkage.
Looks very sexy by the way, you find another deal like that you let me know...

I got them from a guy in Orlando that had a friend who got his GT500 converted into a Supersnake. He put them on ebay for a little, but the guy i know talked him into selling them to me. So i went and picked them up, too good a deal to pass up. He even gave me the rear rotors, but i figured id save those till i change the rear pads.

There are more pictures of the brakes and the car in this thread, i didnt want to picture whore the "tech" section

Brembos on and Photoshoot

You are correct.

And if you did get air in there, either the pedal would feel spongy and the clutch wouldn't fully disengage, or it'd just pop over the over-center spring and stick to the floor. Since the clutch circuit is so small, only a tiny amount of air is needed to make it all fucked up.
