These calipers didn't have the type of pin that slides through, just two little bolts that hold it on.

See the bolts!

see them

Sweet write-up Zip. I just finished putting on my EBC rotors and red stuff pads last night. Its quite simple actually, I am glad I decided to go to our local Part Source and rent that rear caliper tool.

The only thing that I was not happy with was my EBC red stuff pads didn't come with new clips, so I had to shine up the old ones.

I tried one side by taking off the entire caliper assembly bracket and all, but taking the caliper off first and then taking the bracket off is definitely the way to. Took it for a short drive to return the caliper tool last night and holy crap I can stop now, I am a little worried about the rear passenger side though the pads don't seem to be bedding in properly, I guess it will take more then 2 miles to bed in properly though, LOL.

Thanks dude. You have a link on the EBC stuff? I'm curious since I hope to upgrade the brakes on this thing come next spring.

When you say clips, are you referring to the pivot springs on the top of each pad?

Think he means the pad hardware that mounts to the calipers that the pads fit in. It's apparently a tossup on whether pads come with hardware or not.

nah I don't like turning today's thin-ass rotors. I just buy new ones.

To be honest, my fronts are less than 50%... I'm hoping to make everything last till I park it this fall, and then next spring hopefully do a bit of a brake upgrade on both ends of the car. If there's one thing I'm unhappy with on these S197s, it's the performance of the factory brakes.
