Ok the the stock cmcv's are garbage and don't do what they are supposed to. They are like a second throttle body that sucks and hurts power.
Now....if you delete them you will gain power and engine efficiency. I would recommend the steeda race plates. They deliver more power and have a better port match. Also your car will rev easier and your intake will sound more beast mode.. Install is simple but time consuming 2-3hours, 1-1.5 if you are good. There are 10 bolts that need to be removed. 2 are on the inside bank of the intake manifold. They are located between the 2-3 intake runners on each side. You will see them after you take out the fuel rails/injectors. Also you will have to disconnect the control module and take all the 3 bolts out of that. Then you have to take the 4 or 6(can't remember) torx head screws out of the plates that go into the manifold. Then take the 8 green gaskets out put them in the new ones and then slap it back together and tune it up. Then enjoy your mid range to top end power! Hope this helps.

At the end of each intake runner there is a plate with butterflies that regulates the airflow into the cylinder head thus claiming to increase fuel mileage and low end torque. All the the CMCV (Charge Motion Control Valve) deletes are, are OEM castings (Steeda Economy plates) without the butterflies and butterfly shafts therefore creating less restriction in the intake path resulting in around +-10HP up top in the RPM range, and with a good tune will show very little to no low end torque loss.

Basically to break that down even more, Ford tried to improve gas mileage by putting butterfly valves below the plenum.
The CMVC's are just a plate that replaces the one holding the butterflys. Hope that helps a little more, navy summed most of it up.

I didn't lose any torque and I got some more topend. And if you are planning on cams and you are not getting a twinscrew supercharger, then these are a must.

Only time I'd recommend getting the billet race plates is if you're going all out. Also, the economy plates are going to be stopped being sold very soon. So if you want those, I'd order them ASAP. The gains are small and you'll probably make ~6 rwhp and rwtq from them but every little thing adds up. Plus you won't end up like this guy ...

I'd get the steeda ones...They are the best and you don't have to worry about anything once they are in or regret anything.

Steeda is the only company to make CMCVs as far as I know.

im pretty sure that you have an 09 Mustang so you should not listen to any of the guys telling you to get these................For the 09 Mustangs ford actually welded the CMCV's onto the intake manifold for some god unknown reason....... so unless you are getting an old intake manifold plus these or a aftermarket intake manifold you cant have them.........and dont even think about the plugs steeda sells there is major horror stories over those......
