WHEELS!!!

SO IT HAS TAKEN ME A COUPLE OF DAYS TO EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I WANTED TO POST. i BOUGHT A SET OF AMERICAN RACING ROGUE WHEELS. THEY ARE 8.5X20 AND 10X20. WELL I WANT ANOTHER SET NOW AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN A FEW WEEKS SINCE I EVEN GOT THOSE RIMS.

I WANT TO KNOW CAN I GET 18X10 ALL AROUND? WHAT PROBLEMS AM I GOING TO RUN INTO WITH TURNING RADIUS, RUBBING, AND OFFSET? LAY IT ON THICK BECAUSE I KNOW THAT BOTH THE FR500C AND FR500GT HAVE 18X10 ALL AROUND BUT THEY ARNT STREET LEGAL. CAN I DO IT I WANT TO KNOW BECAUSE I TRAVEL BACK AND FORTH FROM ONE TOWN TO THE NEXT EVERYWEEK AND I HATE HAVING TO CHANGE THE WHEELS BACK AND FORTH JUST SO I DONT LOOK LIKE A LOOSER WITH A NICE CAR AND NO RIMS. THIS WAY I CAN HAVE TWO SETS THAT LOOK AWESOME AND DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WEARING DOWN MY 275/35-R20 TIRES

18x10 will not fit on the frt. 9's are about as big as you wanna go without rubbing and clearance problems.

here's whatchu need

front: 18x9 with 265/40/18
rear 18x10 with 315/40/18

i would try to get at least a 40 in the rear for a little better flex for grip

those are the wrong sizes... If you go 18's, the proper size would be 45/18.

On the new mustangs the proper size is 45/18's. your stock tire is 235/55/17. If you upsize 1 inch, to keep the same diameter you would go with 45/18's. the 05+ have a bigger fender well than the older mustangs and if you were to go 40/18's the wheel would be too small.

i think he's asking about width anyways. not profile

i was just using that as a general number to show him what widths to go with on a 9in rim and a 10in rim.

I noticed you said 265's in the front... isn't wider better? I ran 275's on my 96... Is 265's better?

the perfect fit for a 9in rims is 275. 255's for 8.5. Not trying to be a pain, but just going by what i'm told at work every day. I work at Discount tire.

265/45/18 only come in the following tires.
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Bridgestone-Tires Potenza RE-01 R

27.39 inches high is close to the stock height of 27.18 Inches.

265/40ZR18 out there. 26.38 Inches tall
Pirelli P-Zero System
BF Goodrich g-Force T/A
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Bridgestone-Tires Potenza RE-01 R

a 255/45 18 and the 285/40 18 are the same height

45 is a taller sidewall than the 40
the 45 means 45% of the width 265 in mm to the side wall is 119 mm high
thats 4.7 inches high and the tires is 10.4 inches wide

So when you go wider the sidewall number goes down.

Here's a link with a tire size calculator. If you put in 235/55/17's as the original tire size, it says 275/45/18's is almost exact. Only about 1 mph differance on the speedo. the side wall differance is -.22

dayum... I was just looking up tire prices for 20's! The price of a 275/35/20 is $303(nitto nt555) I then looked up 255/35/20's... they're only $150. Thats a lot of money for 20 millimeters in width. thats like less than half an inch i think. If you're thinking bang for your buck, deffinatly not worth going for the 275's like I was going to do.
