Hey everybody....question??, will adding CAI, LT headers, Chip, TB, Gears, and drop VOID my factory warranty???? I have a 05 vert GT. May be a dumb question but I cant seem to get a straight answer from the dealership.

I would say, yes. But, just between us, If you can afford those modds and things seen to be working okay, I wouldnt worry about it. Remember, these modds are engine modds, so all others are okay. What is the worst that can happen ??? blown motor ? Get a new one for less than 2K. If you cannot afford 2K then you should not be modding to that level

the parts you replace will obviously not be under the factory warranty. maybe a warranty is offered from the manufacturer. in order for the dealer to not pay for something that you didn't change they have to prove that one of the mods you did caused the problem.

also i haven't done a tb, but everyone seems to say that it is absolutely not a mod you want to do.

Any of those could void your warranty, assuming they could be attributed to damaging whatever broke. Doing something that adds more power could, potentially, cause any part of the drivetrain to fail (at least according to the dealer).

It's best to consult your dealer about doing stuff like that, maybe they'll warranty it if they do the install. Or, keep your original parts and if something breaks then put your car back to stock before you take it in.

Heh, a new 3v 4.6 engine would probably be more like $7k at a dealership. Maybe $2k for a used longblock not including labor.

I'd hit up one of our vendors. Most of them are quite large and can probably offer a complete, tuned, package for you.

The CAI and tune is a great start for power, especially considering it'll fix the hesitation inherent with the factory drive-by-wire.

That wasn't very nice, I wasn't attacking your opinion only offering mine. I suppose I'll just mosy on back to my hole now. The thread starter should probably just contact his local dealer, or respectable repair shop, and get a quote himself.

Yes, You are right on track. The only thing that I see you could do to get it even better would be to invest in suspension, CAM and tires. You max out those items and you are borderline all you can do with non supercharger/turbo

You can get 400HP and maybe 25 more without a supercharger or turbo. It just takes $
