roll bar dimensions

I have a 2008 mustang gt and i want to build my own roll bar setup where it will have the main hoop and the crossbar but i want the diagonal rear down bars to follow the roof line and enter into my truck area. does anyone know where i might be able to find some dimensions for that type of roll bar to help me get started?

You might want to check out Wolf race craft before building your own. They have exactly what you are talking about. And they offer both weld in or bolt in. I built my roll bar using a program called Bend-tech. Came out perfect the first time.

thanks man, the reason i was wanting to build my own because i mainly want it for cosmetic purposes but it would be nice to stiffin the car up a little bit. I was wanting to make it our of brushed stainless steel to match my black and charcoal interior. where might i find that program?

Why not just get a prebuilt kit and apply the finish or lack there of yourself? This isn't something I would do for cosmetic reasons. What's the reason to pose with a roll bar?

Here's a few sites with prebuilts:

Im not sure I wouild recomend a roll bar as a cosmetic upgrade... I would say save your money for something you like a little more practical and to your likings. Whats your mod list?

Thanks for all your input, im actually doing it for an assignment in one of my metal working classes im taking under a mechanical engineering program. we were supposed to design a structural form and apply it to show its practical application. i was thinking about it then i had the bright idea of caging my car!! that would cover both aspects of the assignment. so it is gonna provide structural support for the car since i do have a few mods. I have an SLP exhaust system, Diablo chip, supercharger and some minor suspension mods( such as lowering and stiffer struts). So yes there will be purpose behind the cage. It will be tied into the frame and will be a weld in kit, but i still want the cosmetics to match my interior. I don't get to drag race much since im in college and there is no track within 2 hours of here, so im not too worried about passing NHRA tech. since i do have a purpose built drag car. So thats the reason behind doing a cage out of brushed stainless. So no, im not a poser, i just want it to loook good while its goin fast

Have you ever gotten in or out of a caged car before? I have as my fox is caged and couldnt imagine doing it on a daily basis. I cant recomend agianst this enough... But its your car and you can do whatever you want. Just wanted to give my 0.02 on the topic.

What kind of supercharger you have on your car?

I was just gonna do the 4 point bar with the cross bar in the main hoop, so there would be no door bars unless i used the low street door bars that follow the door sill. im running the vortech HO setup, it definatly gives me the power to have a little fun. all together, i think its puttin around 500 hp to the wheels, give or take a few. I havent had it dyno'd yet

Alamo Autosports is a tuner shop. I met Brice Yingling ( owner of Alamo ) at Houston Raceway back in 02... I thought they were a strictly import shop. I know they really push AEM and Greddy products hard, didnt know they dealt with Diablo.

Yeah, btu you cant guess on a tune and since they only have a FWD dyno they couldnt have had any spec to compare it to... Not to mention a supercharged application is not something that you want a junk tune on. How much boost are you pushing?
