Springs and Front Grill Questions...Please HELP!!!
Hey Guys!!!
I am lowering my 07 GT/CS vert this weekend...I want to take up the fender well space and improve handling...my question is which is better the Eibachs or Steeda springs? I've heard that Eibach's will drop you 1.5 inches and the Steeda's only 1 inch. Anyone used these setups? Pros? Cons? Next question is about the GT front grill... I want to run the "Eleanor" style fog lights in a black honeycomb grill in the LOWER front grill and have a basic (no fogs) honeycomb grill in the UPPER front. Has anyone been able to find this type of setup? I can only find the billet style grill or the UPPER front "Eleanor" grill. Please help cause I've exhausted my searches... If I absolutely have to use the UPPER grill for the fogs, is there a one piece honeycomb style LOWER grill that will cover the opening in the bottom bumper? Thanks Modders!!!

-Springs-
I run Eibach and they are good to me, all I can compare them with though are the stockers. I do have longtubes and prochamber so the speed bumps can scrape my 'cat' guards so no biggy really. -Eleanor- Hmm many choices to be had here, all at a premium of course. These are my favorites. I just installed the Steeda Ultralight Springs and the Tokico D Specs last week.
I wish that I had gone Eibach as the 1" drop isn't enough. |

i also will give my vote for the eibachs. of course they are the only ones i've had also. you will at least need to put on an adjustable panhard bar to get the axle centered. i would absolutely suggest doing lca's and new shocks/struts. after doing it all get a lifetime alignment from firestone. it costs more, but if you will keep your car it is much cheaper to pay a bit more the first time and never have to pay for it again

doesn't the CS already have a 1.5 in. drop? so if you put a 2in. lowering kit on it, wouldn't it really only be dropping it .5 in.?

Ok...this is good information...I'm really starting to lean towards the Eibach's now. The GT/CS is technically 1.5 lower due to the front air dam being longer and therefore closer to the ground but the problem that I have (with all stock Mustangs) is that the fender well looks HUGE even with an 18" rim stuffed in there. I'm tired of her looking like a 4 wheeler...hehehe
OK...well the "drop" has been scheduled for Monday morning so there are a few more days left to weigh in on which springs are better...let me hear ya Modders!!!

I am also going to have the calipers powdercoated Ford Blue...I'll post some pics this evening to get everyone's opinion. Please be honest when you see 'em...(as I know you hardasses will...hahaha!!!)

The California Special has the same suspension height as a regular GT. You may have read or noticed that it has a chin spoiler that is 1.5 inches lower than a standard GT.

Well, I got her back this evening and all I can say is...Woo Hoo!
![]() I added the Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and Eibach springs and she shifts so much better!!! Damn thing is barking 4th's with the TCS on! This is one of the best upgrade package I've done to my car. It has really bumped up the "Wow" factor when you're driving (or riding). I drove it around town and this purple (yes, purple) Honda ricer rolled up with his school bus exhaust pipe. I rolled him in first, barked second almost the length of his car...by third, I was screamin', "Who's your Daddy!" ![]() To All Ricers... I will post pictures tommorrow in the daylight. |
