Chicago AutoShow...SRT8 Charger

Hey there everyone. I want to start by saying this site rocks my skull. And second is that i went to the chicago autoshow last night, and i got to do the ride along in a dodge charger SRT8. Dodge has this thing where they show how thier cars are quiet, handling, and acceleration. anyway, I had my hopes up and thought i was going to be thrown back in the seat, and my girlfriend thought the same thing, but NOTHING!!! I thought it was going to kick my 07 gt's ass. Not at all. If anything i thought my car would have beat it off the line. I dont know how hard it pulls at highter speeds, but it is a real dog off the line. The stang feels like it pulls a lot harder. But to be fair to the Charger, it was only 800 feet, but still. Not impressed at all. I love my stang that much more now. What does everyone else thing of the Dodge SRT8's or think the same as I?

I see that you have 98 markVIII for sale...how much you askin, color, and miles....i have been lookin for one. I used to have two that had a good amount of mods done to them. a 94 and 98. Sold them both to get the new 07 stang. But i love marks.

SRT8 Chargers are known to run low 13s with a GOOD driver mod....Its not typical though.But for a 4 door sedan it has my vote for sure!

my friends dad has one with a cai and tune, and im not impressed. plus because it has four doors, it isnt a muscle car.

Weird thing is though the Srt8 Cherokee is faster than the Charger... Go figure that one out for an Suv! Its pretty fun to drive! but its not a Roush!

can you get a charger with a 5 speed or 6 speed?

Nope. They only come in 5 speed automatics according to the guy who took us for a ride in it. The guy said that since they were bought out by the mercedes, they are never going to have manuals. He said that all of the big HP cars that mercedes makes all have the triptonic shifting. But that was all i could get out of him because our ride ended.

Whats the point of having a powerful car without an option to have a stick? IMO, shifting is half the fun.

In my opinion the Charger is a 4-door abortion. I mean, it has 4 doors. And it's a Charger. And it has 4 doors. Did I mention that it has 4 doors? lol
I'm not against a nice performance sedan, but they should have called it something other than a Charger. Like, uhhm, a 300C! Oh, wait....nm.
