I ran Toyo T1R's in a 275/40/18 on the stock 18x8.5 rims. They fit great and I won my auto X class this year with them. They run a little narrower than some other brands so they fit very well on the stock width wheel. I have them on my Carrera also, They are amazing in the rain and are very predictable when pushed to the edge in the dry. I also agree that the Hawk HPS pad is a good choice.

go with 275/40/18 all around, same setup that roush runs on their cars. also look at cooper rs3 (roush stage 3) awesome tire. ride quality isn't that good but it grips like a champ.

I've got over $1000 invested with my Toyo T1R's and Nitto DR's, but in my eyes, it is well worth every dollar spent to have a set up that you can push to the limits with the confidence that I have. Be wise and buy the best for what you can spend when it comes to your tires.
Reps. I wish more people understood this.

It makes me want to punch babies when people have horrible street tires and they are investing money into their suspension for the only reason that they will hook up better.

More reps for 07 on this one

I am constantly amazed by those that come into the Tires/Wheels section (mod on another forum) and ask for "...the cheapest tires I can get, so I can afford an S/C"

I have Nitto NT555's and love them.. Had them on for about 4-5,000 miles and still look brand new. Rain can be a little sketchy on blacktop, taking a turn at like 20 but other then that in the dry they grip real well. Hell i raced my boy with his 5spd GT on ET Streets and i was on Nitto Street Tires, i got him off the line. I had a quick spin and got grip and left him.

Don't skimp out on safety equipment..

its not that i don't want nice tires. i just don't have a lot of money. im gonna go with the 555's, but what size. 255/40/18 are like 130 bucks a tire and 275/40/18s are like 150 a tire. but are 275's too wide for my 18x8.5s?
