We use Powerhouse...terrific product and service but you should not be focusing on brands names yet. Do some thorough reading on forced induction and decide which one better suits your needs and goals.

JDM has a bunch of cars with saleen blowers and stock auto 5r55s in the 10's. Those cars are well over 400rwhp

edit: JDM is definitely a great shop to get a supercharged auto done

Do you know how long those transmissions last? Hang around the forum where those guys post and you'd find out that most of them have issues with the transmissions.

most of them are on S197performance if I'm not mistaken...and i'm pretty sure the weakest part of the 5r55s is the input shaft

Input shaft is typically one of the most likely to break. However, a lot of them have issues with 3rd gear slipping as well. I still think it's probably the best transmission that's ever been put in a Mustang. I would never think twice about putting an automatic transmission in my car but the 5r55s is pretty enticing for a badass drag car that sees a lot of street use.

yes they are really great auto's out of the box. The 3rd gear slipping I've read about too I remember a year or two ago reading about someone coming out with a stronger input shaft and something with 3rd gear but I never followed up on it.

Yes, the TCI converters suck for the S197. There is no doubt about it, get the Precision Industries converter.

Precision Industries

The 5r55s has a couple weak links in the trans. I have the pleasure of breaking more input shaft than anyone! I have broken 6 so far, 1 stock one and 5 TCI Billet one's.
I did have an issue with 3rd gear going out but that was after almost 300 runs in the 10's.

Now with the New E-Force Blower we are breaking more input shafts, so we steeped up the stall and couldn't make the car hook, so we are going back on the stall.

I have a 4r70 here to go into the car, but won't put it in till this season is over this weekend. Then we Go for some 9.0X's on the car.

The 4r70 is a much better trans but for easy street driving and someone who wants to go to the track every now and then, the 5r55 is fine.

just my $0.02 Though.
