First time to the track

here's the numbers and remember i've never even been to a strip to watch much less drive. no performance mods only suspension and tires

reaction: 1.11
60 FT: 2.24
1/8: 9.03 @ 80.00 mph
1/4: 18.83 @ 99.73 mph

pretty much ran consistly high 13.9's, but got the 13.83 after letting it sit for a while to cool down and also took out the dirty filter

yeah yeah ha ha, everyone else running all stock 05's were running low to mid 14's. besides in complete stock form the car is advertised at 13.7 and you know that is under perfect conditions.

so now the question what did everyone else get when you were without any performance mods. since i guess that time sucks.........or have you not been to a track

got my 07 gt 5 speed and was at the strip 2 days after purchase.

13.71 @101.9 was my best on that day

My reactions were .550 and my 60ft was all over the board that day due to compensation for wheel spin. 2 of them were 1.89 and the rest were 2.1+

I think a stock GT ridden like a red headed step child can get into the 13.40 range with traction. I know mine could have. I went and put on a procharger, I wanna see how the 1/4 goes now.

Get you some drag radials and watch those times go down...get the 60" down to a 1.7 or lower...

S197s are VERY capable of running 13.5xs with a capable driver & even a little better with perfect track conditions!

Nice times PB, you will drop them down a bit with some practice, a quicker reaction time and a lower 60 foot time.
Just wondering, did your suspension mods help with wheel hop at all, and how did the car hook overall?

it absolutely helped with wheel hop. almost completely non-existant. it did hook well after i figured out where to launch. i was launching between 1500 and 2000.....any more than that and i would just spin like everyone else seemed to do. if i didn't keep them up at all it would just fall on its face for a second bogging down. if we end up going often i'll buy a line lock for the breaks. also i didn't let any air out of the tires

Cool. It will be a lot easier with the line lock; I can't wait to get one of these myself.Try dropping your tire pressure down to 24 - 28 with a street tire, I wouldn't go much below 24 with a street tire. You'd need a drag tire to drop it down lower than that.

13-6 - 13.8 is good times for stock GT's

i do have the slips, but don't have a way to scan them.

one of the cars i beat was an srt 4 neon......he got smoked. the best thing about that one was he had v8 killer on the back. just waved as i finished and turned my blinkers on. beat him by a few tenths.
