will a 275/40/18 tire fit on a 18 x 9 in rim? thanks for the help

i had 285's on 9 in. wheel. a little trouble installing but no problems once on.

thanks for the help. I made the mistake of ordering tires before rims. and then I found a different set of rims that I liked and wanted to make sure the tires would fit.
