I think that old adage is true...for naturally aspirated motors. It should be:
"There is no replacement for displacement.*

*Except for forced induction or chemically introducing oxygen into the combustion process (i.e. nitrous oxide)."

The reality is the more oxygen you can burn in one combustion cycle, the more power you make. At least thats the simplified version.

With all that said, I'm a BIG big block fan....so I'm all for the swap!

how did i know someone was gonna say that...

you can boost and spray all day and make great power, but increase the displacement on top of that and you're making even more power. look at it this way: how much power do u think u can coax out of a 1.5 litre 4 banger? ok, now with all those mods u used to get that power, apply that to a 5.0 litre v8...

Not too fast. The 4.6L 3V responds to forced induction much better than a push rod 302 ever will..
