I see no reason to elevate your ride, as those tires run just fine on the S197 when lowered 1.5".

4Talked to a local tire guy, he said that 275/40/20 is almost 2 inches too tall and prob wouldnt be a good idea to run them, i dont want to miss out on this deal, anyone else think this would be ok???

Your original post says they are 275/40/20.....that will work. Later on you said 275/50/20....that will not work. Just so we're clear on that.

im sorry it is indeed 275/40/20 for the rear and 265/40/20 for the front.
should i go after these then? i dont want the car to seem taller just because of the wheels ya know |

ok guys well i bought the wheels!! paid 550 installed for them. the front tires are 245/35/20 and the back is 275/40/20, i have the same size tire on my lightning so ill just take these off and save them as spares since they have like 3k miles on them.
but my question now, what size tire should i go for? i think they are 10" wheels so would the 245 work? i am thinking 255 or 265. |

You don't want to go 245's on a 10" wheel, as minimum is going to be nearer to 265's, IMO (even then, it will look a bit thin). 285's are a good width, but can run up to a 305 if you want to max out a good fit.
