Aftermarket Coil on Plug
Anybody ever tried these? I noticed a few companies are selling them for the modular motors, MSD for one and claiming "improved spark energy"
Does this translate into any real additional power gains (seat of the pants or dyno numbers)? Would the gains (if any) be more on a S/C engine?

Improving your ignition systems output is beneficial, particularly if you start pressurizing your cylinders, either with a blower or a turbo. When you start running more serious psi with these systems, it is actually possible to blow the spark out before it crosses the gap at the plug. It's also common to close up the gap to overcome this issue. A hotter spark helps ensure a more complete burn in the chamber, especially in a turbo or s/c car.
