Anyone with a custom sub box and axleback exhaust....LOOK in

OK, got a question.
I just installed my MAC axleback and it sounds great except for the headache causing drone.
I'm wondering if anyone has noticed the drone of they're axleback system going away with the install of a custom sub box????

Will anything help quiet the drone like Dynomat in the trunk or ?????? I gotta get rid of this horrible, trim rattling noise.................. :headscrat

PLEASE HELP!!??

you need to change your mid pipe, not sure about the h pipes but the x pipe will get you past that drone note. it'll still drone a little (1800) but you gotta love it

I don't have the aftermarket exhaust yet, just the sub box.We did use Dynomat in my car, and it is very effective at reducing vibrations, so it may be worth a shot.

resonators are needed to reduce drone.

should quiet down just a TINY BIT, but not a lot. Pypes Exhaust is making exhaust pipes with the resonators built into the pypes to reduce the drone on any aftermarket exhaust setup.

http://www.pypesexhaust.com/newproducts.html#12

I'd keep an eye on it, but its a good thing for MAC, Borla and all serious drone exhaust owners.

when i first got my slp loudmouths they were loud, but with a lot of drone. it was very annoying. i added the FRPP x-pipe and the drone is now gone. the car is also quieter inside, but it is louder when behind it. i love the setup, but now am starting to want it to be a bit louder. i think if it gets louder though i'll loose my quiet ride inside.

never heard of an x pipe making a car quiet unless you mean none off road maybe.

a prochamber or x-pipe would probably take away a good chunk of the drone. Resonators are an option too.

I had FRPP (Borla) Stingers. Droned like crazy. I added a Bassani Catted x-pipe. Exhaust sounded louder & more agressive, but the drone was just as bad.

Now have Bassani Street mufflers with LT headers and a catted x-pipe. They drone plenty but that muffler doesn't drone as bad as Stingers.

My point is - I highly doubt an x-pipe is going to eliminate drone. Someone else here said that it did, but I believe that to be particular to their setup. I know for a fact an x-pipe will not eliminate or reduce drone from Stingers or Bassani Street mufflers.

I did the custom subwoofer box thing to. Its got nothing at all to do with subwoofer sound.

Regarding Pypes mid-muffler system - I've read reports of people using them as resonators and that they reduced drone. I'd have to see it to believe it (you can also read that Stingers don't drone much - hogwash). The Pypes thing may work, but I'd just want to see it before I tried it.
