I'm a little confused as to what all you get with a tuner. Do they all come with all the fuel tunes so you can use whichever, whenever? OR....if i wanna get a 93 and a lower octane will that be 2 of my 3 free tunes? Sorry..this may be a dumb question...but I'm CONFUSED. I DO know that one of my 3 tunes will be for the CAI i'm purchasing from them. So, whatever any of you guys know about tuners please enlighten me! thanks

from my knowledge you will get 3 tunes and that's all the tuner will hold. some places will give you 3 set tunes depending on what octane you have in your area. others will give you choices on what tunes you want. bamachips is one of the places that you can choose which of the tunes you want. anyplace you get the tunes from will need to know certain information about your car. such as what size tires you have, what mods you have, what size gears you have. some tunes are made to give you the best gas mileage while others will give you the best performance. keep in mind though to get the absolute best performance out of your car you should get a custom tune from an experienced dyno shop

evolution says the offer 3 tunes....and i understood it to mean they would give you a tune for any mods you have or plan to do in the future. BUT then they list choices...which are nothing but fuel tunes. sooo i dunno. i'm really new and inexperienced with all of this stuff.....i'm trying to learn..and have learned alot on MM. What tunes would you recommend psycho?? i don't have many mods YET...just a hurst shifter and some flowmasters. I'm ordering the C&L CAI as soon as i figure this tuning stuff out. thanks for your help!

Pony, when you order it, they will offer up tunes for all the mods you currently have and can also do it across fuel grades. In other words, the tunes you will have will be for all the mods you currently have on 3 fuel levels.

I went a different route with mine when I dyno'd the car. I went with an extremely conservative tune for 93 octane (basically a cold weather tune for the s-charger). Then a hot street tune for 93 octane with more timing added in and last a race only tune for 100 octane fuel.

I chose to go this route as I will never run anything less than 93, so fuel level tunes were pointless to me.

Hope this all helps.

All you need is the 93 Tune. There is no advantage to staying with the 87 tune. You will not save anymore gas. I actually get better gas mileage with the 93 tune than the stock tune. Now, my tunes come from Evolution performance and they are the shit. My car is Automatic and rips second and 3rd gear. I could not believe the difference! This is now a totally different car, the way it should be. They will customize to what you have
or will put on the car CAI, etc.
