Anyone have these White Face Gauges? If so...

Just wondering if anyone has installed these on there ride?

2005-09 Mustang GT White Face Reverse Glow Gauges - My Color

And if so, how do you like them? Pics? Also, i have and like my mycolor and want to know if it screws that up too much, because these go directly over the stock face, not a direct replacement like i had on my 03. Any help, advice, opinions on this subject would be great.

It looks like that speedo only goes to 120 MPH. You will have to send the entire cluster to Ford so that they can recalibrate it to match up the speedo. Ours go to what ? 145?

If you are set on the white, and have to get them recalibrated anyways, then you should get these and send them to Saleen for the recal and the whole thing will cost you 136.00 plus shipping.
Saleen Mustang RaceCraft Gauge Instrument Cluster FACE : eBay Motors (item 380202891523 end time Mar-03-10 07:23:35 PST)
These will work with the "my color" gauges that you have stock.

How would i go about getting recalibrated?? So...buy these and send to Saleen for the recall? Sorry if i am sounding ignorant about the subject, just not knowledgable about these. Please explain a little.

Well the needle doesn't know what number it's pointing at, it just goes to a certain spot when going 60 MPH. Well 60 on our speedo is not in the same spot as the one you are looking at, or the Saleen one. So they have to adjust where the needle goes to get an accurate speedo reading.

To have it recalibrate you will have to pull the entire gauge cluster out of the dash and mail that off to have it recalibrated.

Why couldn't you just use a tuning device like sct/diablo and tweek the revs per mile to get it accurate? I'm sure there is a valid response but I don't know it and it might be helpful to someone trying to do one of the 200mph gauge faces also.

Call Saleen, Tell them you want to recalibrate your gauge face to which ever one you pick, either 200 or 180. They will charge you 100 bucks for the recal then give you an order number. You will then have to ship them the gauges with a return shipping label in the box. They can recallibrate them on the same day and get them back to you within as little as 4 days if you pay for fast shipping. FYI, If you decide to do the 200 mph ones, there is no traction control indicator or the little wrench indicator. But I looked at the 180 mph one and it has all of the indicators. The number to call is 1-800-888-8945. If you do it, they will also install the face when you send it in, so dont bother to put it on yourself. The needles are a pain to get off.

That is effin brilliant!!! I think. Let's see.............the only draw back to that is if you go with the speedo that goes to 120, you would be putting more miles on the odometer than you are actually putting on the car. If that is not a concern, I don't see why you couldn't make that work. In theory 70 mph on our guage (the 140 mph one) would be 60 mph on the other one. So my 700 rev per mile tires @ 60 mph would be spinning 700 revs per minute. That means that they would have to spin 817 times a minute at 70 mph. If you put the 120 mph guage face over ours you would have to set the tuner at 817 revs per mile on the tire size option to get that speedo to read 60. I think that would actually work. Boy, aren't we smart!

Edit: I just realized that I have probably a bigger tire than most and if your tire size is much smaller, I don't know if the tuners would have the range for the revs per mile that we need.

Edit 2: and if you did this all your other little trip computer stuff like MPG and avg. speed would not be accurate.

I thought of doing that as well, but having done it, (replaced the face) I would recomend you still have them re-calibrated because you might not have the needles on exactly perfect after changing the face.

yeah I would always suggest to do it the right way, but it it was just kinda cool to figure it out aanother way. You know if you did it with the saleen guages you would save miles.

Thats a good point. I hadnt considered the lower mileage. Something to keep in your back pocket when buying a used modded car.
