SOS Pillar / Gauge's In General
Okay so my blower fund was spent on other things! but thats not gonna stop me from my blower! anyways what kind of gauges did you guys go and which setup/pillar. I am keeping my eye on the Autometer's Cobalt and Ford Racing One.. Want something that possibly lights up blue.
Thanks PS: what is the difference between electrical and mechanical? also a/f and wideband? Thanks x2

The SOS stuff is par none the best
If you want a pillar pod get the SOS one. I recommend Boost(obviously ), A/F, and a fuel pressure gauge if you want 3, though the first 2 will be sufficient.

SOS pillar pod W/ Autometer C2 ( white face and light up blue ) Boost, A/F ( Wideband ), and the stage two proshift ( Has shift light, shows RPMS in digital, and has a launch light ). Boost will be mechanical and the other two will be electric.

Its exactly as it sounds. Mechanical ones are mechanically driven and electrical ones use sensors and isolators to send readings to the gauge.
A mechanical boost gauge has a plastic tube that goes from the back of the gauge to a T that goes into a vacuum line. An electrical A/F gauge, uses wires from the back of the gauge to a sensor or sending unit that takes readings and ships the info back to the gauge.

Which A/F? There are both wideband and not. If its under $150 its not wideband. The widebands should have a digital display in the middle showing your EXACT A/F ratio. Dont get one of the ones that just has the light ring that moves to show your A/F, those are good for nothing more than a light show.
Wideband: ![]() Not: ![]() of what?

Then the cobalt series are going to be what you want.
Go to autometer.com and it lists all their guages and has a link to show them illuminated so you can see what you like.

Youngin', I'm looking at the Nexus guages by autometer. They are a bit more expensive but I like them. They have quite a few little options that you can use to customize the look. You should be able to match it up with your my color in your car. I am going in another direction with my wideband though. From what I've read, the autometer widebands are not the most accurate. I think I'm going with Innovate (sp?) for my wideband. And they will all be mounted with SOS products.

About three months ago I picked up a full line of the nexus gauges for use in the dash of the kit car. They are light years ahead of any autometer gauge I have ever used ( and I have probably owned 40 gauges in the last decade or so ). But... That doesn't come without it's price there are several modules and things to buy in addition to the gauges. Be prepared to spend over a grand for a couple of them.

I picked up a couple of glow shift gauges last week.A boost and a fuel press.
I already have their n2o gauge and I like it. It changes colours and is a good match for the ford gauge lighting. I will be testing both in the lab this week if I can make the time and I will post results if anyone is interested.
