i'm not going w/sportline because the drop is 2 in rear & i think 1.5 fr and someone already posted that they were changing them because of scaping all the time. so i'm thinking of going bmr's 1.25 fr-1.75 r which is still a nice drop

No problems, running Sportlines, i'll drag if I go over a speed bump too quick on the stock wheels. I ran them almost a year on 20s and while the ride was pretty harsh it wasn't unbearable and the 20s helped me just clear speedbumps fine.

the size of rim isn't going to effect the cars hight. that will be changed by the hight of the tire. you can have a factory tire hight on the 20's also you just have to know what you are ordering when you get them. like the factory tire size for me was 235/55 18 when i change to aftermarket rims i still have 18's but now my tire size is 255/40 18 and 285/40 18. the tire hight is vertually the same for the rear tires and just a bit shorter than stock on the front.

the tire size 285/40 18....

the 285 is the width of the tire and the 40 meants the hight of the tire is 40% of the width. the 18 of course is just the rim size

Sportlines are great on the 05+ stangs...I would highly recommend them...Also you are going to need camber bolts...But t is worth it...

Eibach Pro Kit vs. Sportline

Ok, I've been reading and reading these posts in regard to the pro kit and sportline kit, and I'm still undecided. Right now I have a set of unknown lowering springs (no name on them) and they have been heated down on the top springs. They feel like your riding in a wagon, really harsh. Really low, you have to watch everthing, speed bumps, railroad tracks etc.
I'm a sport driver, love to drive fast, love to street race. I want a set of springs that are firm, but I don't want to have to watch out a block ahead for the smallest potholes. I also want the low lowered look of course, you might as well ask for everything right.
I also want to add struts and shocks, thinking about the Pro dampers or the Tokico's, not the adjustables.
I welcome All advice, especially from those of you that have added any of the combinations above.

Thanks, Brent

5 years later....search button ftmfw

welcome to mm!!

Aftermarket shocks/struts will help you out.
I have the eibach pro's and they are alright. I wouldn't recommend them, but i also wouldn't discourage somebody from getting them. Lets just say im content with them. However, that could be my fault for combining them with ford racing K springs as opposed to eibach springs.
If you do get aftermarket shocks/struts/springs, than add strut mounts to the list. The factory ones will pop and clank like crazy.

This is too hard because we have no idea what you want. Figure out how low you want by looking at pictures. I really like the Steeda Sport springs for a "mild drop". The Eibach Sportline is a good kit for a more extreme drop, the BMR drop is pretty nice and in between the two. I would go with the Koni strut / shocks though.
