2010 Mustang GT Now... or wait for 2011?

Hey guys I am new to the forums but I am interested in buying a new mustang GT. Currently I have been offered the chance to get a 2010 mustang GT at a local dealership for about 23.5k. That is an awesome price in my opinion. of course the 5.0 is comming next year so i could go that route but i would end up paying about 30-33k for a 2011.

Is it worth it to get the 2010 and save that much money, or should i just wait and get the 2011 GT?

Thanks!

Thats a pretty good price on the 2010. Just depends on whether you would be satisfied with the 4.6 or are willing to pay the extra 10gs for the 5.0 ... of course for 10gs you could put a nice supercharger on their and spank the 5.0.

On the flip side the 5.0 offers 400 hp right out of the box with no mods.

If it helps any, I just bought my 2010 for almost exactly that price. Although I'd like to have the extra horsepower the 5.0 will give, for the money difference the 2010 is an awesome deal..

I'll also be able to take my time with any horsepower upgrades, thus being able to spend that extra ten grand when it's available, as opposed to having a much larger monthly car payment.

Not everyone will agree with me, though. That's ok, too.. this way, I'm driving a new car now as opposed to waiting even longer.

i would go with the 2010, as of right now you dont even know how the 5.0 is going to respond to mods. i mean they are already coming with factory "tuned headers" it my guess is that it is going to be pushing about as much as you can get with simple bolt ons. you are going to have to wait a while b4 any great mods come out.

The only thing with the 2010 and the supercharger is that your warranty is gone.

The 2011 will run near 12.0s with drag radials and a good driver, all with a warranty.

I would go with the 2011.

When you start the modding process though, who cares about a warranty?

Watch this then decide. Should be an easy choice.

I agree. My opinion, if you want a car right out of the box with no modding go with the 2011. If you want to do the modding go with the 2010.

05+ Body Style is a pretty hefty car. Personally if your like my uncle , doesn't like modding a car, go 2011. If your looking to have some serious tinker time go 2010.

I'm pretty sure the 2011 will be running a high compression engine, so if you're looking to supercharge it you'll only be able to run about 5 lbs of boost without blowing up the engine.

man, if you get it for that price, I would hop on it. That is a super deal, is that brand new??? That would be a crazy price. I got 5,795 off, but that is even better!!

I mean, the 2010 is a banging car, but if you really would hate yourself later, then wait. I knew they were coming out with more HP, but the 2010 is a beautiful car and its what I wanted!

Holy shit, i forgot it had a f'n six speed, lol. Also IMO 30k for the 5.0 would be understandable, if not amazing. For instance, the 05-06 GTO's were about 33K with 400hp, then GM came out with the Camaro's again with 425 payin a bit more than that. Now think about the Mustang, because its alot lighter then the competion has been, and just as fast with 300hp, and now its gonna be about 33K with 412hp? Great F'n deal if you ask me. ..cough..cough.. rape.. cough.. cough..

I bought my 2010 black GT for 23500 brand new 24 miles on her. She runs well. real well. Ive smoked my brothers '91 5.0 w/3.73s, a 6.0 GTO, 5.7 T/A, TT Eagle Talon, hell I even beat the new 2010 SS Camaro (but he has an automatic and i dont think he can drive because he shouldve beat me.) 1/8 mile 0-60 She's QUICK. That being said, I wish i wouldve waited for the 2011 and payed the extra 8K, but Im gonna go ahead and payoff my 2010 and get the 50th anniversary 2015 --- once in a lifetime.
