My new S197-with pictures now

My father bought a 2009 GT for me with only 1,800 miles (I'll get it tomorrow!!!)

I'll get pictures tomorrow and post them, I did drive the car yesterday and I must say that I loved it! I do have some doubts now that the previous owner said that the car has GT 500 suspension, flowmasters, CAI and some other visual mods... I am not really sure about the suspension as if it's full or just some parts. It also has some Konig rims that I actually don't like now that they have a red line in the inside and the car is silver with black leather interior...

I didn't like the flowmasters, they were too quiet (I couldn't hear them in the cabin without music unless I accelerated too much for my taste in the city+traffic) and I plan on changing some parts of the exhaust system soon... and I need some help with that. I am 100% sure that I want Kooks lt's but I have no idea if I should go with an x or h mid pipe. I don't plan to keep the flowmasters, they will be there just untill I get magnapacks (september) or the full Cervinis-300 package. The Cervinis-300 wont be soon... maybe in around a year.

^^There seems to be some oil there, is it normal?!?!?! ^^

Well, my dad is against the non catted mid pipes and I can't really do much about that.. he gets the final saying of what I can do to the car (I am only 17)..

I will pay for the lt's so he is letting me do that and I am sure that will make them louder but since I am gonna get magnapacks soon and in a year or so the Cervinis-300 I was wondering if the x or h would be better in the long run...

Also an X will give the exaust more of a bite to the sound, whil an H will be deeper in general. Taking the cats out will make it louder, but if you have emiisions where your at, you will prolly fail. I would run an X and maybe run the mufflers (you dont need to change) up in the mid pipe. Alot of guys are doing this locally, and they really sound good. And on the S197s, there is room just before the axles to fit a set of chambered mufflers like flows, jba's, etc. Keep us posted and get some pics! Congrats on the car!

And an X will get you a couple more HP to the wheels, but I dont think you would even notice anything more than the sound...

I don't have emission were I live at, he just wants a catted pipe because he feels that it will be obnoxiously loud for all the neighbors... now that I am the last house and in order to get there I must climb up a mountain and when I go to school everyone will be like specially on weekends when I get home late

Be careful with the car man. I know when I was 17 I thought I was a driving Jesus.

Yea, Same here at 17-18! I had a 99 V6 Mustang then and found myself into a few bad spots.

That will sound great. It will be plenty loud, even with the cats.

Just sayin' man. That's a lot of car and its very easy to knock the back end loose and end up in a ditch if you overestimate your abilities and under estimate the car.

Respect the car.

When it comes to making it go faster get a tuner. Its really the best mod you can possibly get for it.

The only time you will really notice the tone of the exhaust is with the windows down. Even when I was driving with SLP LM and no resonators the cabin noise was fairly quiet with the windows up.

I will get a Steeda/C&L racer CAI with a tuner from brenspeed once I get used to the car as it is right now.. (It currently has a K&N CAI but it doesn't have a tune) and yeah.. I am scared and I don't plan on driving it in the rain :/ I will continue to use the f-150 when it rains now that it at least has 4x4

Wow, then maybe it does sound to others but I can't hear it inside.. I did see when I opened the trunk that It had some type of insulation.. that might be the reason if why there's no noise in the cabin.. and when I turned it on and had my door open I did hear it and when my mom was outside looking at the car when I turned it on she kind of screamed hahaha

I hope they are good, I am not in the united states so having any problems wouldn't be good for me

When I got my car it had pretty awful tires on it so driving in the rain... was an experience to say the least. Plus its my first manual car and the car I really learned how to drive manual in.

Whatever you do DO NOT get a Throttle Body for the car. Thats just throwing money away.

It's my first manual too and my father was actually kind of surprised that I was able to start it and drive it around with him without so many problems on Saturday.. it was my first time in two years driving a manual car. (I had to take a course on a manual car to get a diploma for my drivers licence)

And nope! I live in Mexico.. not Canada
