I have a 2005 gt and I hurt my bottom end so I got a 302 stroker kit I am also running a THP turbo that I was making 550 already so now I am thinking maybe 700 to the wheels and I want to know if the block can realy take this or should i use a early teksid block?:no

The 3 valve block is supposed to be the best aluminum 4.6 block now. Teksid was the tops until the 3 valve block came out. If you deburr the meat hooks and other sharp edges on the inside of the block it further reduces the chance of stress cracks.

We're hoping for 25-27 lbs of boost on this build on our 302 stroker (cast iron 2004 cobra block). It's rated at around 900 rwhp

The best cobra blocks were IRON and Sean Hyland has a really bad reputation anyway. The newest '05-up aluminum blocks are the latest, greatest aluminum 4.6 block.

I did some more research and found what Nasty and Anthony were talking about. According to Rob Denworth, and Jeff Lyjack of ford racing, the best 4.6 to have is the Cast Iron Windsor, then our 3 Valve one. This was on page 146 of June 2010's 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords. Bravo guys, I bow to you, I have been owned. I need to keep up. So any one want a Teksid block.....got one Im probably not going to use now....DAMN!

The best 3 valve engine available right now is from RGR (Rich Groh Racing) His top offering is mated to an iron block.

You weren't owned...we are all wrong sometimes.

His best offering is stuffed into a new Ford Racing Performance Parts Modular Big Bore Block. I have talked to him a couple times and he has no problem building motors that are expecting 1200+ HP in a 3v block. Neither does BES who built Vinny Barbers motor and that car is making atleast 1000 RWHP.

Cool you guys helped me find what i needed the newer blocks (RF3L2E-6015-CC) are stronger than any Teksid block ever produced. You can thank the "chilled bulkhead process" for this. Also, RF1L2E-6015-** is also stronger. Each iteration of the AL block has been an improvement over the last. This info comes straight from the guys that engineer and manufacture these blocks so one of these is 2000 to 2006 and the other is 2007 and up is what my understanding is and my spare motor was a 2008 so i am going with the aluminum block thanks for all the help guys now i just need to decide if i want e85 fuel ah to many things to think about :):D

I deal with a lot of differant people and it seems to me that all these companys have major issues with there products remember they have a guy in the back working for minamal money putting these together and i have seen all of them fail the warranty is only as good as they want to be and thats usualy not good. its to much work to pull these and I am the type that does eveything on my car I have built 4 of these motors for my cars before and it costs half of what these guys charge and I know its right but I:cool::yes am not knocking those guys they do good work but i am not willing to take a chance on being that one that didnt work out.

A buddy blew up a motor because of their garbage, found out the block was bored over when it was supposed to be stock bore so there was no cleaning it up. Of course MMR just told him to bite the dust. If you do some digging you'll find a lot of horror stories with the 3V blocks and MMR.

I thought all their stuff was blueprinted and balanced? Am I confused on what that is? Did he not have any other proof that wasnt what he ordered? I called RGR like Anthony said and they have not got back to me. It seems to be 50/50 on if MMR is garbage or if they do good ****. Some say they are great, others say hell no. Guess I will keep digging. Thanks for the heads up though. I have plenty of time to make a decision, so I will be doing much more research.

your best bet is to find a machine shop that does good work and have them build it there is nothing special those guys do it just needs to be balanced with good quality parts and be sure to debur the block and use main and head studs.:sorry;):yes

My first build the guy ported the block and this is the first thread I have seen that ever talked about it. it is supposed to keep the stress cracks from appearing.. IDK but it is good so far..
I went with custom everything when I did my first build... wasted a bunch of $$$.. but we live and learn.. research is the key and I think 33 is on the right track
