FRPP Power Pack

Hello. I'm new to this site. Been lurking about two weeks reading the post.
Cool site. I got an 07 gt, black. Just ordered the power upgrade package from ford racing parts. Anyone have and feedback on this stuf. It's a cold air intake, mufflers (part # m5230-gta) and voucher for a pro-cal. Wanted to know if anyone had this and really what do those mufflers sound like? Hopefully Im posting in the right section.

Anyway I live in MD.

It sounds great. I also have an 07, & will be getting this pack, along with the drag pack & the handling pack from FRPP this spring. The mufflers are actually Borla's, and the sound is amazing. Figure adding about 15 - 20 horse.
I would also suggest getting the X-pipe, as it really completes the sound, and helps free up the flow.

Welcome to MM.

I have that package and found that the tuner it comes with is not that great. Now, bear in mind I had a Shaker scoop installed as well and there was a serious issue between it, the CAI and the tuner, which the dealership told me, has a single tune for the CAI only and that is it.

In the end, the dealership had to take it to JBA who used an SCT tuner on it and corrected the issue in no time. So, I got the SCT tuner out of the deal.

Now, that is just my experience, and when I had JBA dyno it later on it came in at 292 RWHP which translates, i believe, to between 335 and 340 horsepower at the flywheel. I like the exhaust a lot; looks mean and sounds classic muscle car.

nice rides both of you. I got to get some pics of mine on here. glad to here u like the sound of the mufflers. old school muscle car.... sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. hope I don't have the problem with the tune. I thought that shaker hood was like a ram air system?

It is a ram air system. I wanted a scoop on the hood, mostly for looks, but we all decided (me, wife and old custom car guy who runs the custom shop at the dealership) that if you have a scoop it might as well be a functional one. So, while according to most people on this board, the Shaker gives minimal returns, it does look nice and in my opinion, if it is pulling in air from outside the car and sending it straight to the CAI, then it has to be doing some good. More, colder air = a good thing. :wink

so basically your cai is still located in the same place? how does it feed from the shaker to the intake? or is it just letting air into the hood? or the shaker hood is the intake, a direct flow? cause i would imagine if it was feeding that way, that would add more horses than the 3 foot hose we got now?

Thanks man, that was our thought as well and what we were going for.

Stanggt: Yes it is in the same place, what they did was feed the output of the Shaker underneath the shield of the CAI so its "mouth" is about 3 inches away from the filter.

So, I have the normal air flow coming in the front and up under the bumper/fender and also the ram air coming in from the scoop. Like I said, by all accounts on this Forum, the scoop doesn't do a whole lot, but tome more air = mo better. :wink

Can't wait to see pix! Let us know... I've got 4.10s on the way, but it may be a couple of weeks before I can get my brother-in-law to "help" me install them. (He is VERY mechanically inclined- he built a '67 Fastback into a high-11 beast. He wishes he had never sold it!)

When you get it all installed, give us the low down on the "seat of the pants" difference!

got it on yesterday. I really like how it sounds. Its not a lot louder but it is louder and much deeper and throatier. sounds good. As for the "seat of the pants" I think I can feel a difference in performance, its not huge but i notice it.

There is a long on ramp that i hit everyday coming home from work. i always gun it. yesterday when i took the ramp same way i always do.... (at the end of the ramp it turns sharply)......i was going a little too fast, thats when i really noticed it.

The tips are 4 inches and look great. Ill get some pics on here this weeked.
