Buying exhaust for 2007 (SLP or BORLA?)

I recently traded my 2004 Mach 1 for this 2007 GT Premium.

My mach 1 had SLP LM1 exhaust. Complete catback.

I noticed on the SLP site for this body style they sell only an axle back system not complete. Would you recommend getting the SLP axle back exhaust or going for the extra dough and getting a complete borla catback?

thanks

I did like the sound of the SLP on the mach 1

You Do no need a catback on the new mustangs!! Just axle backs! your waisting your money on a catback kit with Borla, borla gives ypu pipes you already have STOCK On your car! but you can buy JUST the axle back kit from Borla or Ford Racing

Borla vs SLP, def SLPs all the way! I love mine!! Borla's have a very hurting ear drone, IMO.

+1 on the SLP's. I have them on my 05 and love em. Love that sound. I got mine at LMperformance.com for $299.95. Couldn't find them cheaper anywhere. I think they are still on sale for that price. That also included shipping.

Alright thanks.... the slp sounded great on the mach 1. So i'm sure it will sound good on the 07 GT. Just wanted to make sure about the axle back exhaust coz on the mach you needed the entire system. Thanks

yet another vote for the slp's. i love them although they do have a good bit of drone. when i added the FRPP x-pipe there is now no more drone. i wish i would've gotten the off road x-pipe though. it isn't loud enough for me. the x-pipe did make it sound much better and now i can talk on the phone while driving on the highway

I have borla!
I love them, the cat back are better than the stock bcuz if you find a compare and contrast pic between the two the borla pipes have less bends which means better flow....the borla do have a drone and they do cost a little more but i think it is more than worth it..

yea about 1 or 2 bends, and still produce the same power as stock pipes. no offense, its a waste if the pipes will do nothing for power over the stock pipes.

and don't believe that garbage on the borla website about 20HP with their catback kit. dyno prove it....

I have the Mac Longtubes, Bassani Off Road Stainless X and Flowmaster 40s, and I love it, a little raspy at a cold start, but leaves after.
By the way, last time I checked, Borla Makes FRPP Exhaust, FRPP is just cheaper...am I wrong?

Hey Machfelon, what's up? I remember you from the M1R. I still have my Mach you trader.

I have a buddy with an 5 speed 05 GT with FRPP shorties, o/r x and axle back Borlas. Sounds amazing.

I have another buddy with an auto 05 GT with stock manifolds and mid pipe and SLP axle back. It sounds really good as well. It may be really nasty with headers and o/r mid pipe.

Good luck with your search.

The only thing in going with aftermarket Longtubes is that the Stealership will charge you 4.5 book hours of labor to loosen them, should your tranny have problems happened once already, goin in a 2nd time (am pulling off headers and letting them push the f*ng thing...

hmm, too loud. Open Longtubes, sounds Bad Effing Azz at open throttle, but is loud as hell cruizing, I cant carry a convo, and the radio has to be at least 1/2 way up (I have the shaker 1000), I put it in 4th at 70, and it quieted it, guess it hit the sweetspot in the RPM range....And the reason mine is raspy is I gutted my cats, I wanted that, soi when I go to the track, I can unbolt them and run open headers...

I miss the mach but there are some nice things about the 07. Once I do my mods I'll be as fast or faster than my mach was. So its all good.
