found best deal on alum. driveshaft

i found after loads of searching, what i found to be the best price on alum. driveshaft. $570 (confirmed) at ponyupgrade.com for 3.5" including the yolk adapter which at other online stores costs extra. compare to blow-by at $750 + and at all the others at round about the same price.

Cool website dumps. I'm drooling over that carbon fiber driveshaft from BMR.

'BMR carbon fiber driveshafts provide a variety of benefits for your '05 Mustang. The overcomplicated factory two-piece shaft weighs an unbelievable 42.3 lbs. as compared to our 20.7lb. one-piece carbon fiber replacement. This rotational weight reduction alone is responsible for gains of 15+ rear wheel horsepower. Additionally the benefits of carbon fiber can be felt and heard in reduced driveline harmonics and vibration. Carbon fiber absorbs these harmonics much more efficiently without the long term fatique associated with steel or aluminum. The factory driveshaft is rated at an estimated 450-500rwhp while we rate our carbon fiber shaft up to 1000+ rwhp.'

Zippy like.

That is cheap. But there is a reason everyone else is $200 more. Possibly quality.

a driveshaft is a long SHAFT that goes under ur car/truck one send slides into ur transmission and the other end has a U-joint on it that connects to ur axel
and im guessing sence its Aluminum it weighs alot less then a Steel one or w/e.. and isnt as hard to turn i guess

the carbon fiber shaft does sound nice but for $1000 + pinnion adapter $150 , the price is kind of steep.

Although the carbon fiber driveshaft is only 22 lbs lighter, this is weight you are removing from a rotating assembly. Removing weight from a rotating mass is very beneficial to performance.
Just adding this driveshaft alone can account for another 10 - 15 horse. Not that the driveshaft produces horsepower, but that because it is easier to turn, you have less parasitic loss in power while getting your hp to the wheels.
Think of it like this: you have an engine sitting on a dyno, running. For arguments sake here, using some extreme weights, you have a 100 lb flywheel attached to the back of the engine. On another dyno beside it, is an identical engine but with a flywheel that weighs just 10 lbs. Which engine will rev quicker & easier?

There was a group buy last month on the Denny's aluminum shaft at modular fords site. 525.00 shipped. Their shafts are a known quality product, price was given because better than 30 driveshafts were ordered in one shot..

Keep your eye's open.
